Rated 3 out of 5 by LaSnoKat Unisex = MEN's sizing; thumbs are too long
These gloves are MEN's sizing, but they were called "unisex". It should have been stated conspicuously that Unisex = MEN's. Who would think that pink gloves would be men's sizing? I wear 7 1/2. Women's medium is 7 - 7 1/2, and the fingers are usually a bit short on me, but larger size would be way too big. In MEN's sizing, men's Small is larger than women's Medium. I exchanged the medium for small, which fit fine in all of the fingers EXCEPT that the thumbs are way too long, so the gloves feel clutzy. [I don't think that men have proportionately longer thumbs than I do, so the thumbs on these gloves are longer than they should be.] Since I used a $10 coupon to buy them, I'm going to keep them.

Ordered Men's Large size gloves, they are too narrow around the hand and the fingers/thumbs are too long, and they don't want to stay on. $15 wasted, not wasting $ to return them. They don't belong in a Bean catalog.

Rated 3 out of 5 by northsub NICE GLOVES ... BUT....
WHO DREW THE PATTERN FOR THESE GLOVES?!!!!! Nice gloves and fabulous color (dark fucshia) BUT... the sizing is definitely OFF. Bought the small and the fingers are certainly generous in length, but the THUMBS are the issue here. They are RIDICULOUSLY LONG and WIDE, almost not human! Thankfully, I only spent $5 for these, so I'll use them to walk the dog. Didn't the buyer from LL Bean notice?

Rated 5 out of 5 by JGinNJ Lost ... Then replaced
I had a pair of these gloves, and I loved them. Not too heavy, not too light, just right. And the price was right too because I bought them on sale.
Went to see a movie on the first really cool evening of fall. When I got out the gloves were gone. The usher even turned on the lights in the auditorium, but no gloves. No one turned them in to lost and found. Well, I thought, somebody else now has my nice pair of LL Bean gloves.
I looked for replacements, but nothing was just right. Some had extra stuff like leather on the palms, or plastic fingertips that were smart phone compatible. I even bought another pair somewhere else, but the were too flimsy and not warm enough.
Recently I bought something else at LL Bean. When the package arrived, inside was a clearance sale brochure, and there on the last page were these gloves, on sale again.
I ordered them. The gloves arrived today. I am happy to say they are exactly like the gloves I lost.
From now on I'll be lots more careful in the movies, and I'll zip shut the pocket I put my gloves in.

Overall poor fitting. Some fingers tight, others loose. THUMBS TOO LONG (literally 1/2 inch hangs over the top and constantly folds over) and are bothersome enough (at least for me) to not wear. Bought 2 pairs and have left them in car and office as 'emergency gloves'.
Not good in extreme cold.

When I first considered these gloves, I read the reviews. The only negative I noticed was the lack of gripper pads for diving. It was clear from the photos and descriptions that there were no gripper pads and I was fine with that so I ordered a pair. Upon receiving the gloves, I thought they were wonderful because the fingers were long enough. Gloves that fit around my hands properly, NEVER have long enough fingers. After wearing for a while, I noticed that the thumbs are extra long. I assumed my hands were just strange. Rereading the reviews, I was amused to see that others have found these gloves to have unusually long thumbs.
If you think you'll be bothered by extra long thumbs, pass on these gloves. If you are like me and don't fret about such trivial things, these are great gloves. They are soft, warm and cozy. The thumbs may stick up an inch above the end of my thumbs but that hasn't caused me any problems. One generally doesn't expect to have the feel of bare hands when wearing fleece, winter gloves.
As for the driving issue... These gloves work just fine for driving. I haven't had any problems with my hands "slipping" on the steering wheel while wearing these gloves. The grip is no different from wearing a pair of knit gloves while driving.
I think these are great gloves and with the extra long thumbs, may help you get a ride if you find yourself hitchhiking while wearing them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gianniboy Warm glove little sizing problem
Overall I like these gloves for the mild winters out here in California. The only thing I have a problem with is the sizing. I think the thumb of these gloves is disproportionately long when compared to the other fingers. It maybe just me or these particular gloves I don't know, but that's my two cents worth.

I did not buy these gloves for the purpose of keeping my hands warm in really cold temperatures or windy conditions. I bought them for the cozy feeling of fleece on my fingers. I wear them on cool days, and like to just keep them in jacket pockets as hand-warmers when I put my hands in my pockets. ~ (Like the navy color especially!)

This is a nice, light glove good for 28 degrees + (I also wear it in colder temps when hiking or snowshoeing). I'm a small (5') female and the XS size fits very well, though the thumb is a bit large. I measured my knuckles according to the size chart instructions and found the sizing accurate. I like the fuschia color because it's less likely that I'll lose a glove (my car eats black gloves for lunch during the winter).
