Rated 4 out of 5 by chitownguy merino for half the price
The material of this base layer is very nice merino wool. This is the lowest price for decent quality that I've seen. They keep you warm when it's cold, and you don't overheat when it gets warmer. They fit under a pair of jeans no problem, I wore them when it was in the low teens here and the lightweight worked great. The midweight I am saving for skiing. I got a medium, I am 5'9" 160lbs and they fit fine. They are a little loose on the legs - some people will like this, but I am used to more tight-fitting leggings. It makes it a little more of a challenge to pull on jeans over them because they ride up. But that is a small thing. These are great, I will probably buy more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by miguelc3 comfy, warm, yet light
live in DC area, I've tested in this winter, so far I'm happy with this purchase.
One thing on the size, I'm size L, had I looked for a tight kinda feel, would have picked one with size M.
Think I'll get more in the future, hope they'll be introduced with more colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jackie08 Great pants
I bought these pants for my both parents last year. They both just love them. The item is of 100% real merino wool with no added synthetic material, very soft, non-itchy and the sizing is just right; they are not tight nor loose. I will definately be buying Cresta wool baselayer for myself and other family members too. Great quality, great look, great feel and great fit. One of the best in the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fishguide Comfortable, warm and soft
These wool base layer pants are extremely soft and warm in the cold climate of Alaska where i live. I purchased more pairs and wear them almost daily in the winter. They are warm at minus 30 degrees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by weatherWimpTexan a good choice for milder days
These provide a lighter layer for days when it's just a little nippy but the mid-weight layer is too much. Wool is breathable so it's comfortable over a wide range of temperatures. This particular wool is soft and not at all scratchy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hikesman Perdy good for the price
I've owned other brands of merino. These seem to comparable in quality and they are about half the price of other lightweight versions. Its quite literally the best fabric on earth, Bean has formed it into a glorious baselayer for all to enjoy.
Quick tip: When you wash merino wool, if ever because its so antimicrobial, use woolite. It will last much longer. I probably wont be buying any other brands of merino baselayers from this point on.

Rated 2 out of 5 by HBLocal Elastic waist defective
I really love the feel of these, but the Elastic inside the waist is extremely light and flimsy, and is folded inside the seam. Very uncomfortable. I am 5'9", 160, so it isn't my gut folding it over. Will return for another pair and just see if I have a bad one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jtandrews3 They keep me warm
The Cresta Wool is very smooth - smoother than I would expect a cotton/poly blend to be.
This lightweight version is definitely thin. I can wear it under my slacks at church and not be cold, and not look funny either. (I get cold when it's under 70F and I'm not moving.) But for working on the car at freezing temperatures, I'd go with the heavier version.
I ordered the medium size. My jeans size is 32x32 and I'm 5'9" and 150lb. The sizing chart worked and they fit just right. They aren't skin tight, and they aren't too baggy.
After washing and wearing a few times, I don't notice any changes in texture, feel, or any wear. (I use a front-loader washer.)
