Rated 4 out of 5 by annabananarama Nice - but back it goes.
I was really impressed with the softness and warmth of the interior - the pocket placement on the sleeve is a great touch especially for runners. This would be an excellent hoodie to run in - I am a runner and I was tempted to keep this just for that alone. I really didn't like the hood - I realize that it is shaped like that to fit under helmets etc, but it is so snug and form fitting it just looks ridiculous. I am high waisted, so this hoodie fell at an unfortunate height for me - it form fitted right under my little "mom tummy" and made me look about 10 pounds heavier than I am. It is just an odd fit for my body type and does absolutely nothing to flatter me, I will be going back to other more modern (I can't name the companies in a review apparently) brands for some slightly trendier and flattering fits! I am 35 with two kids and love alot of LLBean but feel that their things can fall on the frumpier side sometimes. The quality of this hoodie was very nice though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by gerda knocked it out of the park! Perfect for Running!
I have never written a review for any product but I have to give you positive feedback on this one. I agree with all the positive remarks I have read in the reviews but in addition, I especially love the fact that when I run with this jacket over my tank top I don't heat up and I don't sweat. The jacket feels feather weight and so soft against my skin. The hood fits like a glove but feels loose and doesn't fall off when the jacket is unzipped. It's hard to believe such a warm garment can also be so light weight and breathable. (perfect for early morning October running in Boulder CO. 35 deg F).

Rated 5 out of 5 by GradStudentOnABudget Love this beautiful and soft fitted fleece hoodie!
This was my favorite fleece of several that I ordered in my last shipment from L. L. Bean: I found this one to have the most flattering fit for my figure (an hourglassy smallish medium: 5' 5", broad shoulders, and 34C bust - 27" waist - 38.5" hips). The Small fit me best: snug, stretchy and curve-hugging, with room for a tank top or t-shirt underneath but no more. The Medium was larger (especially in the waist and hips), and if I had wanted to layer underneath this hoodie, I would have kept the Medium. I could get the XS on, but it was too tight for me, especially around the bust and shoulders: broader-shouldered and/or bustier women might want to consider sizing up, even otherwise petite ones. I would say that the fit was about a size smaller than the other Bean fleeces I received in my last order (specifically, the Ascent Power Stretch Jacket, the Pathfinder Softshell Jacket, and the Wind Challenger hooded fleece). The Medium in this fleece fit me like a Small in the others. I liked this as I don't think this fleece is meant to be worn with layers underneath, like the others are. In fact, the Small in this fleece fit well underneath a Small in the Pathfinder Softshell Jacket. The fit of the hood was great, the thumb-holes fit my arms/thumbs perfectly, and the smooth outer surface doesn't seem to pick up pet hair like normal fleece does. Additionally, I love the fabric of this hoodie: it is extremely soft, supple, and velvety inside, and is smooth outside (almost like a bathing suit). The hoodie didn't feel at all stiff, and felt like it really moved with me: it's something I definitely see myself wearing when I exercise in cold weather, or just out and about on a chilly day that is not cold enough for a real jacket. The colors are beautiful as well - variegated and saturated. And perhaps the best thing about this jacket is its shape, which is feminine and fitted rather than boxy - very flattering.
I only have a three complaints about this jacket. The first one is that the printed logo on the bottom left of the jacket looks cheap, and I anticipate it partially peeling off in an unattractive way with wear and washing. Why not have the logo embroidered on, as it is on all the other Bean jackets I ordered? The second complaint is that, as with all the other jackets in my order, I really want a two-way zip: it renders outerwear much more functional and versatile. If I am going to exercise in this jacket in cold weather, it would really work so much better if I could unzip it from the bottom as well as from the top as I heat up. Third, an $89 price is really too steep for what is essentially a glorified hoodie. I would love to buy several of these, but at this price point I don't find them particularly good value for money, even though I love the design. For those demerits I give this hoodie 4.5 stars, which I generously round up to 5 given how much I love this jacket's other features. L. L. Bean, if you could just work on improving those few criticisms, you'd have a solid 5 from me on this fleece!

At barely 5'9" and 160#, the large fits very nicely over a light layer. Seams are well placed so it is a more streamlined/flattering look than any typical sweatshirt.
Many long-sleeved items are a bit on the short side for me, but thanks to the thumb-hole design, this is good as a regular sleeve.
However, LLBEAN, PLEASE add 1" to the sleeve length or offer in tall sizes for a more satisfied customer. :) The thumb holes may bind just a bit at the thumb and elbow when used actively. ...And, $89 is a bit steep.

I generally wear medium tops and size 12, but ordered a large based on reviews that it was snug. Glad I did. A medium would have clung to me, a large fits nicely. Slightly snug and fitted-looks tailored. I wish it had a two way zipper, but besides that, it's comfy, looks good, and is great for walking, running, shopping, etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CaliforniaCasualShopper Great color, great fabric BUT too tight, too short
I was really looking forward to receiving this jacket (the orange I wanted was on backorder), but when I got it in my usual size M it was too tight and the sleeves were too short. Now I can't even reorder as the orange is sold out.
LLB -- for items like this where the arm length is more critical -- the thumb hole needs to fall where one's thumb actually is -- PLEASE offer tall and petite sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by veganrocker Great hoodie!
This is such a great item, I've already come back for more. So far, I've worn it running, to yoga, dog walking, and doing outdoor as well as indoor chores around the house. It's really attractive, too, so I anticipate wearing it out. It sheds dog hair easily - a bonus for me, as I have three very furry dogs, and it washes up to look like new. I am going to take it hiking, biking, and traveling soon. I am 5 '1, and wear a petite medium. The medium fit me fine, albeit with slightly longer sleeves than I would ideally have wanted, but it is easily remedied by pulling the sleeves up a bit. It's definitely fitted, but very attractive.

It is very comfortable, very soft. Not heavy feeling. Not bulky. I haven't tried it in the rain. It blocks the wind about the same as a fleece jacket. This is definitely becoming my favorite take along jacket. I had been wearing it for about 2 weeks and just yesterday noticed that on the back right hip area it has a few reflective dots - inconspicuous and typical of the LL Bean quality - just that little extra makes a big difference.

Color was more bright orange but I don't mind it. Great fit and keeps me warm! Love how soft it is next to my skin. I'm 5'2" 110 lbs and the XS fit perfectly.

Never loose your keys or cell phone again with the zipped pockets on this hoodie jacket. Wonderful fit, great color and did I mention the pockets that zip?
