Bought this as a birthday gift for my husband. He has 6 from previous years. I was very disappointed when this one arrived as they have changed the weight of the shirt. Outside fabric and the flannel lining both appear much thinner than past versions. Sadly this was returned as quickly as it arrived. Bring back the tried and true!

I normally take a Large Tall, but this shirt in a TL is a terrible fit for me at 6'3", 195 lbs. The body is way too long. I gave it to my brother who is a Extra Large Tall and it fits him. I agree with the opinions that it is a great shirt and will give it a second chance by ordering a Regular Large.

Not the same weight material as shirts from the past. I will keep this one since I got it on sale. Not a bad shirt but not as good as mu other two shirts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LLShirt Please bring back the old design for this shirt
I just wanted to suggest that you re-visit your design for the Lined Hurricane Cloth Shirt and return it to the way it used to be. I have owned three of these shirts in the past, and was looking to replace them. Unfortunately, you changed the design, replacing snaps with buttons (strike one), made the outer shell more lightweight (strike two), and now the shirts have a putrid color set (strike three). Mariner Blue - you can look like a janitor too, Khaki - you'll look great next to your great grandfather on a safari in this one, Dusty Olive - saves you the trouble of washing the shirt if someone vomits on it, and Brick Dust .... I just don't know what to say.
Sadly, I've had to look elsewhere to get new shirts to replace my LL Bean hurricane cloth shirts. Please, please, go back to the old style on these.

I have a lot of these shirts. In the fall and spring this is often the only shirt(s) I wear. Mid 20's to low 40's degree temps this is a very comfortable and attractive shirt. Currently wearing this same shirt as I'm typing this and the shirt is 3 years old and shows few signs of being ready for retirement.
I'm tall and thin and this runs a bit big down at the waist, but a few minutes at the sewing machine and this shirt looks and feels right when tucked into the trousers.

I love these shirts - comfortable, warm, flexible
only improvement would be a retainer button to hold up the sleeve like a fishing shirt.

I have had 2 of these shirts for years. The quality and durability were amazing. The outer shells were much heavier than these new ones. They had snaps rather than buttons. When I ordered these hurricane cloth shirts I thought I was getting the same shirt. I guess those shirts are gone forever replaced by these thin button up ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by yankeecamper0511 Indestructable, but sized for heavier set people
You can't beat the quality of this shirt; the fabric is sturdy and the stitching is really well done. The cotton liner is soft it's a really warm shirt.
I would just caution buyers about the size, though. This is definitely sized for a heavier set person than I am, but I plan to sort of wear this shirt like a light jacket so it's perfect. But if you're going to wear it over an undershirt, I'd buy a size down from what you usually wear.

Love the shirt! Wish it fit. I wear an XL Tall in most Bean shirts and jackets, but some (particularly "traditional fit") are just too big. I am 6'4" tall and weigh 235#, and the XL Tall in this shirt is WAY too long in the tail and big in the body. Would try an XL "regular" but they are sold out of them. Will try next season when they have more in stock. If you are going to order this shirt, might consider ordering a size smaller than you normally wear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Grammsto2 We love LL Bean, but...
My husband used to love these shirts. Unfortunately these are different than the shirts even 4 years ago. The original shirts he has do not have snaps but they are heavier than these shirts. It would be great to have the previous shirts back, even if they had to raise the price to improve the quality.
