Rated 5 out of 5áby FrequentBirder Outstanding but order one FULL size larger
These are very sure-footed hikers, but unusually comfortable hikers. You won't feel the need to take them off when the hiking is over to put on something more comfortable. Not for really tough terrain as there is no high support for the ankle. These are the right choice when you need steady, slip-proof, tough shoe support, but low hikers or waterproof sneakers aren't enough. Good for snowy days, will keep the feet warm.
Again: order one full size larger.

Quality of shoe looks great but it fits extremely short, I always wear 9 1/2 occassionly even a 9 but this shoe I am going to need a 10.

I wear these shoes all day for about 12 hours. I wear wide EE. I also bought NB 577 walking shows. Both pairs are EE wide, however, 1569 feels little narrower. Since I walk a lot during work day, 1569 feels little tighter as the day goes by. I was tempted to return it, but just dont want to go thru return or exchange for another pair of shoes. Other than that these are comfortable, even while walking on hard surfaces.

Rated 3 out of 5áby Midwater Very comfortable.
I have had a lot of foot and ankle injuries. These shoes fit very well and give great support. Plenty of cushion in the sole and no rubbing around the ankles or heels. New Balance tend to run a little small so I ordered a full size up and they fit fine. The reason for the three stars and not five, is the top grommets are hard to grab with the lace, due to bad construction. With much effort, I am able to lace them up.

The 1569 Mid Country Walker shoe is the perfect shoe for people with bad backs! I have had 5 pairs of these shoes and have never found a better shoe for my bad back. They keep your feet from rolling, they are very comfortable. You can ware them for everyday and they polish very well, you could ware them for semi dress.
The price is higher than I have paid for them else ware, but you also get the extras from L.L. Bean, so it was not worth shopping else ware to save a little money.

Rated 5 out of 5áby 4everMaine Feel great, fit well, run small
These shoes needed no break-in period, just like others customers stated. They are very comfortable, light weight, have worn them for a couple weeks. The size runs small, I usually wear a 12, ordered a 13 and they are just right, order up.

I typically wear an 8 1/2 wide shoe, but this shoe, even in a size 10-wide, was too small.

Rated 4 out of 5áby bluestem Order one half size up
These were to replace a pair of similar New Balance "walkers" of the same size that were very comfortable. The new pair are definitely smaller. I am exchanging them for one half size larger.
They are well made and look good so, other than size, they are excellent shoes.

I have been buying New Balance shoes for many years because I can always count on the sizing .I normally take a 13.These shoes seem very well constructed but LL Bean has no replacement at one size up.They seem very narrow too.
Cant recommend these.
What happened with the sizing issue lately?
I'm sending them back.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Annie1402 Hard to find the right size
As a woman with long, narrow feet, I find it hard to come up with women's walking shoes, so I look for narrow men's shoes and boots. 11N usually works well. In this case I ended up with a 12M, so these run even shorter than most New Balance and narrower. Gentlemen, beware! I also had trouble with the speed lace hooks at the top. The hooks were bent into the boot material and it was nearly impossible to get the laces under them. After all that and two exchanges, I have ended up with a nice pair of medium height walking shoes. I have not had a chance to find out if they are waterproof yet, but if that feature works well, I will be quite satisfied. I just keep wondering, why can't NB make shoes closer to the industry standard? It must make for a lot of unnecessary returns and expense for customers and retailers that they are so out of line.
