Rated 2 out of 5 by CarefreeHighway Disappointing! - the "Wool" pills quickly
I purchased the wool tek vest about 2 months ago. I read all the online reviews and ordered the vest.
The vest itself appears well made like most reviewers noted. The "technical" fabric is really just polyester with a thin "wool" finish somehow bonded to one side.
Initally I was happy with the vest, however after some use there is a big negative. The "wool" is of low quality or something as its beginning to pill and get fuzzy. This is something I wear in the office, so its not the most demanding environment.
Given the vest cost 2x more than a regular fleece vest, I would have assumed that it would be more durable. I typically buy from Bean given their reputation for quality and ease of purchase. I do not fell this vest is a good value or worth the cost given the surface pilling.

This vest is a beauty. The construction is outstanding, it has deep side pockets and the fit is great. It is also a great value and it is very handsome.

I'm normally a tall, 6'4" and the fit of an XL is perfect over a flannel shirt. Vest is exactly what I was looking for.

It's a beautiful option to a standard fleece style vest. It has the smell of a new wool sweater because it has a wool exterior with a smooth fleece interior. The only challenge is the size. I am 5'10" and with a 33" waist, so S or M? I tried both sizes. The S is a bit too tight, especially around the collar. The M is a bit too loose, especially around the waist. But I chose the M. It will work but too bad there is not an in-between size. Nonetheless it is a beautiful, quality made LL Bean vest.

Good fit esp for someone of my size(5'7", 155lbs). Not ext trim but more fitted. See pictures online.
Nice texture and like the angle of the outside pockets, space inside.
With only 26% wool I'd consider a name change but then I see sweaters called cotton cashmere with only 5% cashmere.
I'd buy it again. I'll layer over a nice shirt for going
to a college basketball game this season.
Other colors choices, dark green or navy would be good.

I'm very pleased with this vest. I purchased the vest in coffee bean and I'm so happy with it that I plan to buy the granite version too. Fits well, keeps me warm and appears to be good quality/well made.

Rated 2 out of 5 by canadajl Shoulder fit awkward
The fabric is really nice, colour beautiful, zip pockets good, lining nice, and soft but the shoulders stick out like some sort of outfit on the "Starship Enterprise". Too bad. I am a slimmish medium. The armholes are way too big. The shape and cut of the shoulders is way out. Too bad. It will be returned which is a bummer since post is so expensive in Canada.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JoePa409 The Best Kept Secret.......Wool Tek Vest
I have never wrote a review but in this case I just had to do so!!!
The minute I tried it on, I did not want to take it off. Meaning, what a perfect fit. Just right enough of warmth. I really don't like jackets but with a vest like this, you only need a long sleeve shirt, or a sweater.......this vest works!!!
After just one day of wearing my vest, I ordered another vest, the Coffee Bean color vest. It's like my Dad would say, if you like something get two. Well I followed his advise. The size and fit is awesome.
Thank you LLBean. I truly enjoy wearing your clothes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RobbCO Core warmth, good looking
I hate winter and need to layer up, and this vest is a great mid-layer that's warm and also good looking. I work from home and pretty much wear one of these every day from December through March, inside and out. I own two. They fit me snugly. I'm 5'11" and on the slim side, 34" waist and wear a medium in this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RedBullScouse Nice, well made, but not a trim fit
I was looking for something to wear under a blazer going to and from the office in New York City's cooler fall weather, and this seemed ideal. Sharp looking, functional, and appropriate. But even though it is advertised as a "trim fit," it is anything but. I wear a 42 jacket and a 34 waist, and this boxy cut (Large) is at least 5 or 6 inches too much around the hem, making it too loose and bulky to fit well under a blazer. I'd try and exchange for medium, but suspect it would be too tight around the chest.
