Rated 4 out of 5 by tmkrkr So far, so good
I bought these specifically for my winter cycling commute along Chicago's lakefront and also to use with my Altai Hok skis with the universal bindings.
Even during last winter's vortex, the boots kept my feet warm and dry for both tasks. They are somewhat stiff and squeaky but looking forward to putting them through their paces this winter.

I bought these boots last winter based on the fact that they looked nice and I was really interested in the BOA closure system. As far as I am concerned these boots can hardly handle a New England winter. Wearing a good wool sock, these boots did not perform well in temperatures under 25 degrees. I have narrow ankles which was definitely a drawback with having boots with the BOA system. I wished I had returned them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by p4f8sa9 easy on and off, warm, very uncomfortable
I had to choose these special boots with the BOA closure system because I have a hip injury and it hurts to bend over to take normal boots on and off. I can step into these boots easily because they are very stiff. I can reach over and twist the dial closing the boots fairly easily. When I want to take them off, I just pull the dial, and step out. No more struggling, yanking on tight boots, and hurting my hip. However, in order for the boot to work this way, it has to be very very stiff. That makes it very uncomfortable for walking in the snow > 2 miles. My recommendation is don't tighten too much and they work really well.
I have tried them in deep snow, ice, and wet conditions. They have good traction and keep my feet warm. I can walk miles in them without new injury.

Rated 1 out of 5 by GoPatriots Quite the let down-Not waterproof or well insulatd
This boot couldn't cut New England's diverse weather. I walk 1 1/2 -2 miles a day making deliveries and in wet snow and slush, my feet were soaked. A week later when the temperature went down to single digits, my feet were cold even with a heavy woolen sock.
On a bright note, the Boa closure system makes it very simple to fasten and unfasten with one hand.

First set I bought was to small in length so I returned it for a larger size. Length was fine but shoe box itself was huge. I don't have a narrow foot, usually a "D" width but this was more like a "EEE". Returned it as well but found another shoe with same type lacing (which is what I was wanting, BOA) elsewhere.

I've had nasty back problems for years, and at times tying my shoes and boots are nearly impossible, so I thought I would try this knob type system and it works great! The boots have excellent traction, and yesterday I walked for two and a half hours in below zero temperatures and my feet stayed toasty warm. I am very pleased with these boots!

The boa mechanism broke after two weeks. It came right off the boot with a tangle of the wire system. No way to fix it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by NoahJohn Personally Uncomfortable but Give 'em a Try
My expectations were for a pair of warm, well-fitting winter, comfortable boots for snowshoeing, winter camping and winter hiking. As much as I wanted these boots to work they are just too narrow-to the point the left boot rubs uncomfortably. Seemed warm enough in 20 degree F conditions with a light medium sock and that's pushing it for comfort. A heavier sock for colder conditions and I doubt I'd be comfortable at all because of the restriction when I tried a pair. The BOA system is great. Unfortunately I returned the boots because they were too narrow and rubbed. LLBean is a trusted retailer who accepts returns. You can't beat their customer satisfaction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ninofino Boa closure offers convenience and secure fit
Just received these sport snow shoes and they have surpassed my expectations. In addition to the boa closure system which provides an easy one handed secure fit, they are well made, warm, and light weight. They have many features such as a heel protector and handle located at the upper rear to further assist wearer. There is no break in period required and they were comfortable right out of the box . The black color is very stylish. I haven't put them to test and will update this review if necessary.
