Rated 4 out of 5 by Shetlandwoollover designed for comfort and warmth
This is a very nice warm sweater tat benefits from both a high collar and elbow pads - but I had hoped that the spinning of the wonderful Shetland wool would be somewhat tighter making it also more durable like a similar design LL Bean sold 8 to 10 years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by momof4plus love these sweaters
I bought one of these in grey for a Christmas present, and it is such a hit, I ordered a second in red for birthday. It is a good medium weight, cozy and warm for these colder days. Love the patches on the sleeves, and the lining around the collar. I'll order more again.

I recently purchased a couple of the Shetland wool sweaters. I found them to run a little on the large size, but other than that I have enjoyed wearing them.

This item is too long and too big for a size small. That was my experience wearing it, so I returned it immediately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RandyGA Shetland wool is great.
I like the material of this sweater. It is fluffy and not too scratchy. It is rougher than merino or lambswool if you are sensitive to wool. The shetland wool is more sturdy and rugged feeling though. I wish the elbow patches matched the color of the sweater. I like the contrast color on the collar. The weave is not super tight so wind gets through some. Overall I like it, I will order another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DrAir56 Totally functional and comfortable
I call this sweater functional because the elbow patches wear very well, the zip up collar really works to keep my neck warm (sort of an important task for a wool winter sweater, right?), and in the mustard color I got, my Jack Russell dog hairs don't show up so well on it. Most importantly, it is well and truly warm. Right now it is -8 F below and I just walked across the street with no coat for a cup of coffee. The sweater retained heat well, and does even better under a jacket of course. I was worried about the bottom being to baggy, as another reviewer mentioned, but I'm a relatively thin guy and that isn't an issue for me. Perhaps that reviewer got a size too large? Totally pleased with the sweater and will likely get more of this style in the years ahead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by goodwife1 Pretty good sweater.
It's not as thick as was one my husband had purchased 12 years ago from another place. For a larger, huskier men, I'd recommend one size larger-for my husband his own size XL came a little too tight. It's itchy, but good for wearing above T-shirts. Style is great ! Glad, it's easily washable. And it's warm when the weather is moderately cold, under the warm coat.
Just wish, it was in more generous size, a bit thicker and not as scratchy.
Otherwise, it looks good and presentable.
Hope, my husband will get another 12 years of wear out of it, as with the a different brand sweater he had before.
