Purchased these after buying a pair with no toe strap in a local big box store. Lost one of the old pair in moderate snow. I was a bit concerned about how the size medium Lite Hikers would fit my ladies size 11 hiking boots but they went on without a problem. Felt a little like walking on platform shoes at first but I acclimated in a short time and felt secure exercising my puppy on somewhat icy sidewalks.

Size small in this item for my size 6 1/2 feet fits great over a pair of waterproof hiking boots. I'm pleased that the lite hikers come with velcro straps across the top of the foot so they remain on the boot. Highly recommend.

I ordered two pairs of these for a winter trip to the Grand Canyon. When we encountered snow on the trail they worked great. But as we descended lower into the canyon, the snow turned to slush and then eventually to mud, they kept falling off. I suppose when conditions get wet, they are not as effective. For the price you can't beat it but there are definitely better options out there.

I bought a few pairs of these for myself and a my dog walkers/friends last winter and they worked well getting us up and down the roadways during the very long winter. This past weekend, in Nee Years Day, my friend and I hiked to the peak of Little Monadnock Mountain (1900 ft elevation)! Earlier in the week there was a snow sleet storm that passed through. With the stabilicers, we were able to hike to the top with no slipping or sliding! I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants to get out in the winter without the fear of slipping on ice. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ElderDiverAdventurer a big help for icy conditions
I bought a pair of these last year, just before we went to Banff National Park in Canada in early March 2015. This was 10 weeks after my hip replacement. I knew it would be icy there, we'd be doing plenty of walking and hiking, and a fall could be a disaster! The Stabilicers performed very well - I even hiked Tunnel Mtn trail in Banff, which is quite steep and icy. My StabiIicers and I made it up and down without any mishaps!
We'd previously bought a different (cheaper) brand of cleats; the little button-style grips kept falling off, and we've jerry-rigged shoelaces to tie them onto the boots, otherwise you find yourself walking on one cleat when the other slips completely off the boot. The Stabilicers, on the other hand, have nice beefy cleats that don't fall off, and they have straps that keep them on the boot securely, even in rough going. So I'm surprising my husband with his own pair of Stabilicers for Christmas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MarcyB Excellent traction
These items offer excellent traction compared to other products I've tried. One problem in previous models was the tendency for them to fall off (undetected) while walking, but the new model now has a Velcro strap to prevent this from happening, which is a great improvement. Overall, a great product.

I Can't review these ice walkers because I haven't worn them yet.
However they are an improvement over their predecessors in that the new model also has a helpful hold down strap across the top of the foot.
The earlier model works unbelievably well in preventing foot slippage on ice, either glare ice or soft ice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by carolek13 Great product but runs VERY small
This product works great to give stability on icy services. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the sizing is way off. My husband wears a size 13 shoe, so we ordered the size L for sizes 10.5 -13. This size was way too small so we returned them. The return process was easy and customer service sent out a replacement even before we had shipped the return. The XL pair for sizes 13.5 -16 just barely fits size 13 shoes, I worry that the rubbery material will eventually snap from all the stretching required to get them on. Fortunately we do not have a lot of icy weather where I live. If your feet are smaller than a men's size 13, you should be pleased with this product - provided you order a larger size than usual.

We are going to clime some mountains in spring. This gear saves us a pair of snowshoe and save some backpack space when we are above the tree line. It is perfect if you just need to use it occasionally during a day hiking.

I bought these upon a friend's suggestion. I was not disappointed. Since I'm 61 and a tad overweight, the only real problem was pulling them on. But once that was accomplished, I LOVED how they provided confidence in snow covered ice. I have no fear of slipping out there now. Best to take them off indoors, not so much because they damage anything, but they're a bit slippery on floors! Makes sense. While less expensive models are available elsewhere, I think these will last and last.
