I usually wear a size 12. These jeans were a gift and in a size 14. They are a good fit so I recommend going up a size. The main problem is with fastening the metal button at the waist. The double seams of extra thick material and the short shaft on the metal button make these jeans almost impossible to button. I have to use a small screwdriver as a wedge to get the button through the buttonhole. This is possible at home, but a definite inconvenience any place else. Perhaps these pants should have a button with a longer shaft so that they can be closed more easily

I love these jeans! They are soft and warm! Made my dog walking in gale force, Colorado wind, bearable today. They may not be a fashion statement, but make up for it in comfort and warmth. I ordered the flannel lined relaxed fit (1 size up based on reviews) and regular size in the comfort waist. The relaxed fit was too baggy with the upsizing. The comfort waist is a little big, but not terribly so. A pair of long underwear would fit fine under these. I will order a size smaller, but will keep my size 10 too. I also increased in length so that I can roll them. Because these jeans are high waisted, having the elastic in the front helps keep them from binding while bending or sitting on the floor. If it is cold enough to wear these jeans, I will be wearing sweaters or fleece tops, so the elastic won't show. I have had absolutely no difficulty buttoning these jeans. They are the same bulk as any other pair of jeans that button. I highly recommend if comfort, and above all warmth, are important to you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by swimmergram Figured it out and love these pants
The waist is too small in my regular size so I went to the women's size and the waist was perfect. The rest of the garment fit the same. It is not tight fitting, just a regular fit that does stretch a bit during the day but not enough to be at all disappointed. They are so warm, casual and perfect for every day activities. I love them!

Rated 2 out of 5 by gigi2006 all over too big
They're too big all over and the all around comfort waist is really frumpy looking on me. I was looking for an alternative to my much worn and loved corduroys but these pants are just too hefty. I'm sending them back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jokrgirl Just what I wanted....
I always read reviews when I order products online. After reading other reviews, I decided to go ahead and order my regular size. I have a curvy figure and a size 20W. I am 5'6" and weigh about 250. (While that isn't easy to admit, I figured it would provide a guideline for other buyers) They fit PERFECT. Right length to wear with my favorite shoes (which have a heel). I can also wear them with flats and roll the hem a bit. These fit as though they were custom made for me. I couldn't be happier.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LabLover1 Small waist
I just received these and have to agree with the other reviews: the waist is way too small (I am a size 12) and the button was impossible to get through the fabric. Sad to send these back, they seem very warm and cozy, but just not a good fit unfortunately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanFanofGoretex Wonderful flannel lined jeans
I generally wear slightly fitted in L.L.Bean tops and size 12 regular in pants. I am 5'6" and weigh about 165 lbs. I always get the comfort waist, relaxed fit, original fit for bottoms in L.L.Bean pants. I ordered a pair of these last yr. and have already ordered two more pair for this winter. Size 12 regular in these is perfect. They are warm, wash and dry with no shrinkage, and the fit is great. I am always cold (even in the house) and these are a God send to me. I read many reviews before I ordered my first pair last yr. Yes, they are hard to button at first but that gets better after a few wearings (3-4). I don't have the problem anymore. I SO look forward to being warm this winter!! Thanks L.L.Bean for such a warm, comfortable pair of jeans!! BTW, I have several pair of the original fit, comfort waist, flannel lined Bayside twills (size 12 med.) and they fit the same as these jeans. They are also a great buy - warm and comfortable!

Rated 1 out of 5 by likecumfy not a good fit
I was so excited to buy these. First I had to wait for weeks before I got them because they were on back order ( which I didn't know while shopping for them. Only after paying I received an email informing me of this) and then when I got them I was so disappointed :(
They sit real high above the waist, I got a size bigger because I wanted the comfort and they're tight! many complained before me, the button is very hard to close I agree, and to top things off they are so heavy they weigh me down. Big disappointment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ajwshing2bwarm80 Great fir in Tall, Small Sizes
Due to a medical issue, the small sizes are what I was after when a cousin suggested I come to LL Bean.
They are LONG enough, for one, and few are for a six-foot-one frame, and for not having to buy mens' jeans, and finding a slender fit, and when you're an 6-1.it isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Add in that when you need the fleece lined in even Northern California, it's a stretch to find something I can wear, and ones I wear comfortably.
The hypersensitity to pain that had me on a friend's recommendation buying a pair of my "special" shoes made the jeans an easy sell when I found the ladies' were in any of the different designs, the regular fit, the easy fit, all of them were cleece lined, as recommended y a friend, and also ones that fit in the slender, but tall frames.
But I also noted that LL Bean also stocks all variety of sizing from regular ladies, plus sizes and petites. So no one gets left out, and off-seaso, sale prices, free shipping, one cannot lose.
I actually own 3 pair. I have had RSDS for many years, and wear these and recommend them to friends who have either had to put up with discomfort of wearing regular clothing, or use alternatives that are far more costly.
Or in cases like mine, they wind up in the Junior's sizes, or worse. Even so, it's nice to have jeans that also with the fold over at the bottom, even for me, that dress up a little, so that when I am able, I can wear them wherever I like. Being thin like Squiggy isn't what it's cracked up to be, whatever the reason, and having to used to fight to lose a pound, I fight to gain. Regardless, LL bean appears to cater to them all.
And well, I think that I have the Easy Fit, the regular ones, and though still on the small sized, these are the first jeans I can comfortably wear.
Again, thank you to LL Bean. High quality also means they far outlast any other of the "less expensive" so one doesn't save money or that much by going anywhere else! And deals o clothing that also is of similar material and wear as these, have proven to be comfortable, and attractive wear for an accompaniment to those of us who are always cold-even in the CA sun, but no more-I am warming up. It sounds odd but well, we all have our story.
Best wear of any pair of jeans, so far!
