I just receivedd the mittens and it is 90 degrees outside so I cannot comment as to how warm they are. But given the material, and overall construction of the mittens I feel they would be very warm. The lining and protective material on the outside would indicate same.
I always wear a medium so I ordered a medium. The fit is good, not too tight. It has a nice snug fig around the wrist. I have no doubt that my fingers will be kept nice and warm.

Wasn't happy with the color. They were too big for use as driving mittens. We're well made. Might be okay for outdoor activities.

I own 1 pair of women's gloves by L. L. Bean, they're a small. Assuming all small gloves and mittens from L. L. Bean fit "the same," I purchased these in a small as well. To my surprise, these mittens swallow my hands. I really love the texture of the mittens (inside and out), I believe they are well crafted, but maybe L. L. Bean could make these in an Extra Small?

I was looking for waterproof and windproof mittens at a reasonable price and these looked to be perfect. They had great reviews and were supposed to be true to size. I measured my hand (8) and ordered a large. They are too big and too long so they will be going back. Like other items, they are out of mediums in November so no option to exchange or I would keep.

Even though I am between sizes...the small size fit and seems to be really warm-- perfect for the WI winters.

While these gloves are warm and waterproof (just tested in the rain) the cuffs make it difficult to wear with the jacket I wear to walk my dog. They are not wide enough to slip over the bottom of the sleeve, yet not narrow enough to easily slip inside either. I struggle with them to tuck the edges of the jacket sleeves inside the cuffs. I think I may open the seams on one side of each glove and see if that helps. No complaints other than that. Just be aware you either need a jacket with a very narrow cuff or a very wide one for them to cover your wrists adequately in the cold.

These are excellent warm, dry mittens.I live in New Mexico but at 8,000 feet elevation so we have pretty harsh winters. Our average snowfall is about the same as Buffalo, NY.
I often wear an extra small in gloves, mitten, boots, and an extra extra small in everything else. I got these in a small and they fit perfect so they might run a tad bit small. Not sure. I highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JackieFromJackson NOT YOUR GRANDMA'S MITTENS - GREAT MITTENS
The Women's Baxter State Parka Mittens are exceptionally warm. I have circulation issues so keeping my hands warm is very important; once my hands get cold it is almost impossible to get warm again. Besides the warmth of my fingers being together, I find that these mittens keep the heat inside rather than letting it escape from the material or from around my wrists. I want to buy another pair in case I misplace them. I would recommend these to anyone who wants to stay toasty in the coldest temperatures.

These mittens look great & fit well. Love the red color! The clip will really help me keep them together - I am forever losing one glove/mitten. If this winter is as bitter cold as last winter, I am so ready!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by LifetimeExplorer Warm, comfortable mittens for cold hand problems
I bought these mittens in dark grey recently and today used them on an hour's walk in wind and 30 degree temperatures, with snow on the ground. I also wore warm glove liners inside the mittens. I have a condition where my hands and particularly my fingers are always cold. These mittens helped keep my fingers warm enough at the start to be quite comfortable until we walked long enough for my fingers and hands to feel truly warm. In the teens and below zero, I'll use hand warmer packets inside the mittens and am certain my hands will feel very warm. They're the best mittens I've found so far in my search for ways to keep my hands warm!
