Rated 4 out of 5 by TashaM59 Carrabasset pulled through during New England snow
Alright, so first I was so late to the snow boot game this year. I always think, next year, next year- which did not help me at all this year when the snow in Boston as a total has reached over 100 inches! When I finally started looking for a boot I could not find any in my size anywhere- luckily I found the Carrabasset- in New York none the less- but I still got them! I read reviews prior to purchasing- and was skeptical b/c of the narrow foot, and not being able to zipper, or tie the shoe. I do have narrow feet, but was still weary about purchasing. At the same time, beggars can't be choosers, and I desperately needed a boot. I ordered a size bigger than my normal shoe- one b/c it is so narrow, and two when I want to wear thicker socks.
They are definitely comfortable boots, - I have been walking in them quite a bit around the city, and they feel great-
they are also pretty weather tolerable- I have basically plunged in the massive puddles of melted ice and my feet have stayed completely dry.
The boots definitely keep your feet warm - and it has been very cold this winter!
They are cute and stylish- I have received tons of compliments. They look great with a pair of skinny jeans.
When I received the boot, and tried to initially get my foot in, man was it a process. Once I did get my foot in, it felt roomy still.
Trying to take the boot off initially was also a process. Luckily, after one go at putting on and taking off the boot- it had already loosened up a bit.
After wearing them for a few hours, I noticed there was something poking into the back of my ankle. I read some reviews about something like this happening- so I'm not sure if it is a defective boot- or just the way it is made. With thick socks, I cannot feel it, but with only ankle socks, it is actually pretty uncomfortable and almost painful. It gets better every day that I wear them, but again I could not be very choosy, and need them with the winter Boston is experiencing.
Wearing thick socks makes it a little bit of a process to put the boots on. It adds extra time putting the boots on- nothing crazy seconds really- per boot. Not the worst, but pretty inconvenient.
With how narrow the boot is, and not being able to zipper or tie (Laces are for show only)- you would probably want to buy a 1/2 size up.
I have been wearing the boots every day since I received them (about a month or so, maybe a bit longer) and am pretty happy with the purchase. There are little issues with them, but nothing bad enough to encourage me to return them for now. For what I need, they have been doing the job.

as you all know, this has been the snowiest winter in New England in a while. i needed good snow boots so i bought these. they are super warm, keep my feet dry, and fit perfectly. there was a tiny breaking in period but other than that i have no issues. i am a seven, in some brands a 6.5 (but mostly a 7) and i ordered a 7 and have had no issues. love them!

Rated 1 out of 5 by TresDoll Extremely disappointed with fit
I was so excited to purchase these beautiful boots, but should have read the reviews first. Ordered a size 7, which is my normal size, but it was impossible to get these boots on! There is no way to loosen them, and I was grunting with exertion trying to tug them on. Once I finally forced them on, the foot was extremely tight and felt a full size too small. I returned them immediately, and will not buy boots from L.L. Bean again unless I can try them on first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Earlygirl At last, a great snow boot for New England!
Well, I may be late to the party, but I've just discovered these boots and I LOVE them! Warm, high (for the deep snow we have here), true fit, and easy to get on and off. Good either with warm socks or not. GREAT for shoveling! What more is there? Can't say enough good about them.

I ordered these boots based on reviews that were "okay" I should have never purchased these boots.
First off the boot is more of a funnel shape and has no movement. I am a size 6 1/2- I ordered that size and they fit! But were were stiff with no leg room or pant room.
Say bye bye to wearing nice work pants with these boots as the pants will be all the way at the top of the fake fur and wrinkled when I get to the office,
These boots are better with jeans and tights not for the commuter and I live in Boston and take the T everyday. I did find a better pair of boots which I love and did return these.
I still love LL bean just not this product

These are unbelievably narrow! I read this in other comments so ordered a size up and still had a tough time squeezing my average size feet I tj them. I wore them around the house for about 5 minutes and already made heel hurts. This is disappointing and they will be returned.
They are very stylist and soft so if you can manage to get a good fit, they'd be nice boots

Rated 4 out of 5 by MomTaxi1000 Great boots, comfortable and warm!
We bought these for our daughter and she loves them. She wears them to school every day and never complains about cold feet even with our unusually cold winter (2-30 degrees) in the Northeast. Unfortunately, the sole of the first pair we got started coming off after a couple of weeks of normal daily use. L.L. Bean was very accommodating and sent a replacement that arrived in 2 days. Thank you!

I've only had these boots for two weeks, but I've been wearing them everyday in the piles of snow. My feet are consistently dry and toasty warm. Very happy with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AshaS Love them!
I bought these over a month ago and when I first wore them they were too tight on the left foot. I wore them with one layer of sock the first time wearing them and it gave me a blister in the left heel. I ended up doubling up on socks on the left foot and they have been great ever since. I just needed to break them in. I still wear 2 socks on the left and one sock on the right just to be safe.
They were tight around the ankle at first but since I have worn them enough and broke them in, they have loosened up but still fit nicely.
They go great with whatever I am wearing and definitely waterproof. I rave about them to everyone. They are warm, water proof and stylish. I couldn't ask for anything more in snow boots. The traction is O.K. I do slip and slide sometimes but they keep me warm and dry. With all the snow coming in in Boston, I am so glad to have bought these boots.
If your looking for good boots at a reasonable price, do yourself a favor and get them!
