These are wonderful, comfortable, warm, nice height for our snows, flexible enough for walking around. Hubby has lived in similar LLB men's boots for decades and I've not turned to the women's version until now largely because I thought the old chain sole pattern would not keep me stable on snow-pack/ ice, but that design has been updated to an incised surface that I think will do nicely. My old boots (sold through LLB but not their make) had a deep lug sole that I really liked in snow, but after only moderate wear the uppers delaminated (?) from the shoe so it was time for a change. I am grateful to customer service who advised my usual 8 to 8-1/2 should size up to a 9; I was a bit doubtful but that was solid advice, the fit is just loose enough to take a thicker sock and/or a small wad of lambswool in the toes on sub-0 days. I have great expectations that these will serve me long and well. HUGE sigh of relief :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by BKuz Warm, durable, & perfect for winter slow and slush
I purchased these boots just in time for the winter storm that hit us here in the East recently. These boots kept my feet warm and dry through the cold, wet, slushy mess! The quality surpassed my expectations. LL Bean boots are the only boots you should ever shop for when planning for rough winters. I wear a 9.5 shoe size (women's) and had to purchase size 10 as this product only came in whole sizes. Of course, they ran a bit big, but nothing a nice, thick sock couldn't support. Even though the boots are lined, the added room for sturdy socks adds more warmth--my feet can never be too warm!

This is my second pair from LL Bean and am very happy and satisfied with both. Still waiting for my third pair expecting to arrive 3rd week of February hoping it will arrived earlier than scheduled. My snow boots arrived in time, 2 days before storm Jonas hit NC.Thank you very much for your efficient service. God bless your company.

I bought these boots months ago, back in November. I live in Michigan and winters can be all over the map, especially in recent years. I regularly am outside walking, waiting for buses, shoveling snow, etc. and I knew i needed to get boots that would last for at least a few seasons and would be able to keep my feet warm. They are quite stiff and clunky when fresh out of the box, but after wearing them for 2 weeks they were beautifully broken in and quite pleasant to move around in. I also have no problem driving in them (once they were broken in). They have managed to keep my feet warm so far and we've hit single digits. They lace tight enough that i can wear normal socks, but are roomy enough to wear thick hunting socks comfortably. Easy to put on, easy to lace, wonderful to wear, just make sure to give yourself enough time to break them in =)

Rated 3 out of 5 by Maxandmocha Warm but clunky
I bought these because my feet are always cold. They definitely keep my feet warm while out in the snow. The only thing is, they are quite large and clunky. I normally wear a 9 1/2 Wide so I ordered a size 10. The width is a good fit, but there is lots of extra length in the toe. I'm glad to have the warmth for recess duty and shoveling snow, but they are too stiff and clunky for everyday use such as shopping and running errands. So now I have just ordered snow sneakers for everyday use!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MicheyMicheyM Wonderful Snow Boots!
These are fantastic snow boots. They are NOT fashion boots and so will not fit/feel the same as fashion boots. They are snow boots that happen to be cute. For those who commented that these seem like firefighter boots, I think you must not know how snow boots are supposed to fit? I don't know. I thought these fit perfectly. I live in northern MA and these will get a lot of use. They are super comfortable and really warm. I could (and have) walk all day in these. The quality is what I expect from LL Bean, great. The fit is exactly what I expected. I wear I size 6 & I feel these fit true to size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Justneedboots Huge and clunky
These boots were what I asked for for Christmas, and my father tried talking me out of them because they were made for way colder weather than we get in Rhode Island. When I opened the box I was excited that they had finally arrived, but their huge and clunky. There's no fashion in these boots. Yes, their warm. Their not comfortable. Their not easy to walk in. I am never going to hear the end of this from my dad if I return them haha.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Lexee Good quality but wide fit
I have to agree with another reviewer that stated these boots feel more like firefighter boots than snow boots. I don't think you'd want to do much long distance walking in them with their wide, awkward fit. Returning them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Hiver Sole is wafer thin.
I tested these boots on a -20 morning during my walk into work. Right away, I noticed that I could feel every spike of my ice grips and all the hills, valleys, and rocks embedded in the compacted snow. Within 5 minutes, the cold had seeped through the sole and into the liner. Fortunately, my walk is only 15 minutes long. When I got to work, I removed the liner and noticed how thin the boot soles are in this footwear. The liner alone will not keep your feet warm if the boot sole isn't thick enough. It gets to -40 and -50 here sometimes. I'm not risking frostbite so these are getting returned.

by Ikonaneia New to snowy weather
First time living in a place that regularly has snow on the ground, I knew I would need some snow boots and came here. I picked one of the warmest rated ones, and these are really warm. I like that they lace up so they can be snug on my feet. The sizing is good, I'm usually an 8.5 or 9 and I got the 9 and they fit great. I've worn them with cotton or wool socks and I'm warm. They aren't the cutest snow boots ever, but I bought them to keep my feet warm and dry because nothing is worse than cold wet socks. My only problem that isn't too big a deal is the liner will sometimes come out when I'm pulling my foot out. Overall great snow boots!
