Rated 5 out of 5 by SkeeterB Worried about the wool in the blend?
Following washing instructions, I washed the garment before wearing. Yes, I initially did not like the wool against my skin when trying them on. After one washing, the fabric blend was very comfortable, and provides wonderful warmth. I am 66 and cold natured. I wear these under flannel line cargo pants for daily in the home comfort to keep the furnace temp @ 69 degrees when outside temps are sub zero. Pricey item for sure, but superior performance of maintaining body temp whether active or resting.

Rated 4 out of 5 Wool long johns-old school-ish
These wool long johns have micro-fiber as well and wick moisture beautifully. They do run large! I usually wear a medium but got a small because of other reviews mentioning the larger size. I needed something fitted for wearing under riding pants and the small fits just right. They feel nice and snuggly and kept the wind and cold at bay just great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FightRSDnCRPS Very Warm!
I purchased the PrimaLoft Wool Base Layer Underwear Pants as a last resort after reading the reviews online. Due to a nerve disorder, my left leg is hypersensitive so I can only wear pants made of soft, stretchy material (like yoga pants or L.L.Bean's Perfect Fit Bootcut Pants). I had to order a larger size so that they would be loose on me, but they still easily fit under my PF pants. The first time I put on the PrimaLoft Wool Base Layer Underwear Pants, I wasn't sure I would be able to wear them because they were a bit itchy for my left leg (please note that my left leg is extremely hypersensitive, and the right leg didn't find the pants to be itchy at all). I considered sending them back, but I was in a tight spot. I had purchased another pair of long underwear from L.L.Bean that was extremely soft, but they were just not warm enough for my leg in single digit temperatures. I had tried so many other brands of long underwear that were either very uncomfortable due to the extremely tight cuffs at the bottom of the leg or were not even close to being warm enough. Instead of sending back the PrimaLoft Wool Base Layer Underwear Pants, I decided to wash them to see if that made a difference, and it did! I was very pleased to see that with each washing these pants got softer and softer, but they didn't shrink at all. I had finally found a pair of base layer pants to wear on our annual, after-Christmas vacation. This year temperatures dropped to the low 10's and 20's, but it felt as low as -9° with the windchill. Even so, my PrimaLoft Wool Base Layer Underwear Pants kept me warm and cozy without hurting my leg or being binding in any way. Thanks for another great product L.L.Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MNSweetViolets Wool Warmth Without Itch or Bulkyness
I purchased these long johns for my outdoor cross country sking activity. They fit perfect, are wool warm without any bulk or itch. They wash up and tumble dry nicely too. They are so nice fitting, I may even wear them under my casual dress pants when the temperature drops below zero again. Thank you LL Bean...this is a great product.

I went skiing for the very first time this past week. It was 14 degrees! I wore these under my ski pants and the cold was not an issue. I was actually warm! They were comfortable, did not bunch, and did the job I expected.
