Rated 3 out of 5 by LyonsandTigers Not Practical for Actual Cold Weather
I am 5'4" and approx. 130# and got a size Small. I found them to be very thin and loose around the calf and leg. The material is so thin, I definitely wouldn't wear them as pants, even for running. Maybe the black would be less revealing. If they were tighter, I might keep them for under my clothes, but I'm pretty sure they would just bunch up. I have very little use for these in Buffalo in the winter. I'll be returning these the next time I'm at a store.

I got these long underwear bottoms to wear while I did chores-especially after work-and to ride horses in. I needed something thin but warm and these pants fit the bill. In the bleak mid-winter after work, in the dark, even in Alabama it's awfully cold. These pants definitely cut the wind and keep my legs warm while I clean stalls, feed horses, and other chores. They're thin enough to comfortably wear under riding breeches-they aren't binding. If you happen to get wet while riding, it happens, the wool keeps you nice and dry. I love 'em!

I was hoping that the fabric would be a heavier weight, however they are very comfortable and suitable for my purpose - wearing as sleep and lounging wear. The tapered leg keeps them in place.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AlexaQ Too thin and too tight
These are very close fitting on my body, which I find unpleasant, but others might like. I am 5'5" and 125 pounds, 30 inch waist, 38 inch hips. I ordered a medium.
I also find the material very thin and light weight, so as a legging they will only keep you warm down to about 50 degrees, and offer almost no wind block for outdoor activities. Lower than 50 degrees and you will need pants over them.
I machine washed warm and machine dried them and they did not shrink.
I think these are just okay, not great. If you want great, get the LLBean 100% merino wool base layer. Warmer, thicker, more comfortable, and better looking too. As well as all natural fiber, which these leggings are not, being a blend that is mostly synthetic. I'm debating whether to send them back, or keep them for spring and fall use.

Bought these for our Germany Christmas Market trip (currently on) and they're keeping me toasty warm without an overabundance of thickness. Highly recommend!

This Primaloft product keeps me warm. I ordered size small, and found they do run a little large at the waist and at the lower leg.

Rated 2 out of 5 by jsusanp just don't fit me well
I know they are not supposed to be tight, but they are strangely baggy in the wrong places and not long enough, either. I am 5'7" and 170 pounds, with a "traditional build" as Ramotswe would say. So maybe the LLBean cut is for a more athletic model. Department store long underwear seems to do better for me.

I had avoided wool products because I thought they would be itchy, but these are not. I plan to buy another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SkeeterB Worried about the wool in the blend?
Following washing instructions, I washed the garment before wearing. Yes, I initially did not like the wool against my skin when trying them on. After one washing, the fabric blend was very comfortable, and provides wonderful warmth. I am 66 and cold natured. I wear these under flannel line cargo pants for daily in the home comfort to keep the furnace temp @ 69 degrees when outside temps are sub zero. Pricey item for sure, but superior performance of maintaining body temp whether active or resting.
