I really liked this sweater but when I tried it on it was so itchy I couldn't wear it. I had to send it back even though it really is a lovely sweater. I have to stick with the cotton turtlenecks which I am very comfortable in.

I ordered this sweater in a size larger than I usually wear to be sure it fit loosely. A sweater this heavy should fit loosely or it will be too hot and itchy. It was about two sizes too small, even with the larger size. I was very disappointed because it is a beautiful sweater. I had to return it at my dxpense.

The quality of this sweater is very good but I found it to be very boxy and actually, kind of a man sweater. I was really lost in it. Though part of that could have been fixed by sizing down (the size is generous) I think that it's the nature of this sweater that it will swamp a woman. Also, it's a MUCH heavier sweater than I realized, which isn't necessarily a disadvantage but it's not what I was looking for so I sent it back.

Ordered this sweater and it is beautiful, but it pilled so much after only one wearing that I had to use my 'fuzz shaver' before I could wear it again.
Also, I ordered a petite, but it is still much longer in the torso than I wanted.

I just love it. Since I am sensitive to wool, I wear silk underwear under my sweaters. This sweater was very comfortable and even the turtle neck was not scratchy on my neck. The cable is not too bulky, just right. The sweater is fairly long. I am 5 feet tall, one hundred 118 pounds. I ordered a medium petite which fits perfectly. The dark green was as pictured.

Rated 4 out of 5 by lani1 nice warm winter sweater
I am 5 foot 3,139 lbs. and if I didn't have a C cup I could probably wear a medium. I got a large because LL Bean clothes are not cut generous in the chest on women. I find this sweater long in the body but It looks nice paired with closer fit pants. I got the red and it looks especially nice with black pants. The cuff is such that even though a little long on short arms it doesn't fall over the hand. I did not find it itchy but may wear a cami underneath anyway just because i don't like heavy sweater on bare skin. I can picture wearing this snugly sweater on a bitter January day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mboonie looks good, but....
I wanted to LOVE this sweater. It looked amazing in the package. But my excitement turned to dismay when I tried it on and realized how itchy it was. Nevertheless, I continued to love it -- I wore it with a camisole underneath, and that definitely helped, except for the arms and under the neck, especially.
At the end of one day of wear, however, my love affair was over. I discovered that my beautiful new sweater was pilling terribly on the forearms and the sides under the arms.
I paid too much for this sweater to not make it through one day of normal wear. Sorry, beautiful sweater, you're just not durable enough for my world. You're going back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by clenjen Lovely sweater, sizing much too small!
I love this sweater...but it is sized too small! Whatever size you normally wear, order the next size bigger...this sweater was skin tight - that's how much smaller the sizing was. I will be returning all three....much as I love the quality and material and colors.

I bought this to go with the Andover skirt and ordered my usual Small. I could wear it but it's tighter than most items in a small I've ordered from L.L.Bean. If you look at the picture, it seems like it's not this fitted, especially in the photo of the sweater alone, not on the model.
It's also very warm. I can deal with a little wool scratchiness but it's harder to deal with when the item fits so tightly. It almost instantly made me sweat. I don't think I could wear it the entire day at work which I had hoped.
Otherwise, the yarns are a gorgeous purple, in the color I picked and the cables are really pretty. If you're looking for a very warm sweater for outdoors, size up one, and it may work for you. Sadly for my curvier (but not overweight) figure, it really didn't work.

I purchased this to go with the Andover Plaid skirt. The arms are not too long as I tend to find this with some sweaters especially since I am short. Great fit and oh so warm! Bring on Winter.
