Got this mulberry sweater for christmas and I love it. It's warm, comfortable, not bulky but it's a bit itchy. So I am thankful for the crowlneck. And I wear undershirt, which it helps to less the itchy. For the size, I wear XL and got it in XL, perfect fit, I am very pleased with it. I'm going to buy another one in brown colour. I need the warmth.

I got the mulberry for Chrismas. I would not have called this mulberry. It's brighter than that. I'd say it's more plum. Looks lighter in person than it does in the picture. Super soft. Doesn't pick easily. I'm long waisted so many sweaters show a bit of skin at the belly which I don't like. This one is plenty long enough. It hits me right at the hips so I couldn't wear it with leggings. It's not as exceptionally warm as I thought it would be. It's a rather loose weave though not exceptionally so; you can't see through it. I'm carrying an extra 10 lbs and it doesn't grip at the waist. It's flattering. I've only washed it once so I can't comment on durability. I definitely hope they add more colors. I would definitely order another one in blue.

Upon trying on this sweater in-store, I instantly loved it except for the slight itchiness around the neck. However, I would still recommend this as it seems like some people have and some other haven't had the itch problem. Why not take the chance and see how it feels? The shipping is free and you can always exchange it, after all! I LOVED the Dark Mulberry Heather color. It's very flattering against my light/pale/rosy pinkish complexion. The overall feel of the sweater was soft, except for some slight itchiness around the neck. However, let it be known that I usually don't wear turtlenecks or even some necklaces because I can always "feel" them against my neck. I'm probably oversensitive, which is why I would definitely still recommend this sweater to others! The color is beautiful, the fit is flattering, the style is feminine and it's very warm! Many good things going for this sweater. I would recommend that you give it a try :) I ended up exchanging this sweater for the similar Swift River Button-Front Cardigan because I can keep all the warmth, style and beauty while still leaving my neck free from any itch.

I received this sweater as a gift and I absolutely love it. I did not find it itchy at all. The sweater is warm and very comfortable. I do wear a thin shirt underneath the sweater. My sweater color is blue and it is the prettiest color blue. Was a great gift and I really love it!

After reading other reviews, I was hesitant to purchase this sweater thinking it would be itchy or not true to the color on the website. However, it is neither itchy or misrepresented. I ordered the brown and it's the same as the picture online. It is not itchy at all. Very warm and fits true to size. Overall worth the money and would purchase again.

Because I was so concerned after reading the reviews, I didn't put on this sweater when I first received it, So many customers stated that they had become extremely itchy and who wants to go through that?. I finally tried it on and waited. And waited. And waited. I didn't become itchy. It fit perfectly. I loved the look of the cowl neck. I got many compliments on it. And I'm sorry I believed the reviews and didn't buy more!!

I purchased this sweater in the cranberry-ish color. While the color is nice, I can't say too much else positive about this item. I agree with other reviewers that it is a little itchy. The sweater is definitely closer fitting than other LL Bean sweaters, but the cowl-neck itself is designed horribly wrong. The cowl-neck fits like a sligthly loose turtleneck sweater--think half way between a cowl-neck and turtleneck. Sadly, I will definitely be returning this item.

I fell in love with this sweater when I first saw it and ordered the extra small because I'm 5'4 and only 118 pounds. It's hard to find clothing that FITS. When it arrived it was absolutely beautiful. The color was perfect, the fit was flattering, and the fabric was absolutely horrid. It's well made, looks nice, and was very warm. However, in some unfair twist of fate, the fabric was so itchy that after only about 5 seconds I started to get a rash on my neck everywhere it touched. I wanted to cry, but I can't wear it. Exchanging it for another style.

First off, the "dark mulberry heather" color doesn't look a thing like the picture; the color and pattern is more reminiscent of ground beef (think variegated light red, pink, and white) than the pretty burgundy shown on the website. Second, this is one of the prickliest sweaters I've ever worn. Wearing a long-sleeved shirt underneath helped immensely, and the collar is loose enough that it doesn't irritate my neck. The sweater's saving grace is that it fit me perfectly, almost like it had been tailored for my body. Other reviews have suggested this runs slightly big, but I've never purchased anything from L.L. Bean before and can't comment. I will keep it because I like the fit, but I'm disappointed in the color.

This was not a 'bulky' fitting sweater and being a size L, I liked that. It was a flattering fit for me, and the only thing I would criticize was that it felt a little scratchy, but I am still keeping it because it looks really nice on me.
