Rated 1 out of 5 by MelbaToasty Worst zipper construction ever, jacket lasted 3hrs
Can't believe how awful this jacket is. I just bought it online, it lasted about 3 hours in completely normal conditions and a single on/off session before the zipper broke off in my hand. The way the zipper is constructed is the flimsiest I've ever seen. Pretty disappointed to have to return it but I'd never buy this jacket again unless it was a new model with a completely different zip construction. Also, the hood is on the small side.

Perfect true to fit size; gorgeous raspberry color; just the right amount of insulation for a damp day in Europe. Sleeves are the correct length as is the body of the jacket. As usual, a great product from a great company...and fast delivery!

I can go on writing but to summarize in one sentence - If you can only have ONE jacket, get this one period
I have been looking for this kind of jacket for many many years. This one satisfies all my quirky requirements.
- Waterproof yet not plasticy or rubbery.
- Has hood that is not huge. Actually fits an avarage human head.
- Light insulation NO bulk.
- Exceptionally windproof.
Overall... just right!! Thanks LLB.

Rated 5 out of 5 by maplescones Great coat--perfect for cool, rainy weather.
Really glad to see a practical coat like this. Rain coats usually don't have much warmth/insulation, so when this coat with a nice quality quilted insulation lining went on sale I purchased it right away. Excellent material, construction and features. I bought a medium so it would fit over sweatshirts/fleece without being too tight. Slightly longer length is great to keep the wind/rain out, too. Cozy warm without too much bulk.
One request: Would be nice to get basic, practical coats in a basic color like navy or chocolate brown. Black is good too, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LymeNH Nearly perfect.
I have worn this jacket daily for the past 6 months, and it's a fabulous jacket for anyone who needs warmth that is water- and wind-proof. I live in New Hampshire, and have found that with a couple of light fleece layers, a hat, and a scarf, I can comfortably wear this jacket (with its very warm hood) in -20º weather. There are so many design features that enhance it's usefulness, such as velcro sleeve closings, the inside zipped pocket, and toggles for tightening here and there... that I can nearly overlook the very weak zipper. The zipper started to break after only a few months, though I managed to fix it easily enough to keep wearing it. Until today, that is, when a piece of the zipper actually ripped away from the rest. It is such a shame that I have to return this lovely jacket, such a waste, just because of a zipper that just isn't up to the task. Luckily the jackets are still in stock, and a new one is on it's way. I hope that you fix this problem in future models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Limestone Warm and dry
Today was the first chance I've had to wear the rain jacket. Damp & rainy mid-50's, but it kept me warm & dry as I ran to & from the car, checking errands off my list. The only "negative" (& I mean as in a rating of 4.5 instead of 5) is the crinkling noise it makes when I move or bend my arms-slightly annoying. Certainly would not affect my recommendation--just an FYI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lookingforagooddeal great jacket
I bought a misses small (5'3" 115 lbs) and it fit perfect with just enough room for a heavy fleece without feeling stuffed along the back or in the sleeves. Without fleece the jacket does not look puffy but has a nice straight line which is very flattering. Length is great falling about halfway down my butt which keeps my waist nice and warm even when bending over. Sleeves fall to the bottom of my hands and have a velcro cuff to pull them nice and tight. Neck zipped all the way covers my chin but not my mouth which is perfect for blocking the wind. Nice matte black. With fleece, I have stayed warm down to at least 22 degrees. Wind does not get through and neither does rain and wet snow. Would have been nice to have a flap covering the zipper but there is no problem with wind or rain getting in. Strictly for looks and still a five. An all-around great jacket for northeastern winter/spring weather. However, far too expensive at full price for any jacket. I got mine on sale.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Oldermomma Great jacket but needs different zipper design
I liked this jacket so much I ordered one for my daughter. However, hers had a problem with the zipper. LLBean, as usual, was terrific in sending another one right away (within 2 days) so it came out fine. The zipper is waterproofed but the actual zipper mechanism needs to be heavier to accommodate the thin rubber it has to go over to zip up and down. But the jacket is very warm, very light weight, and has so many outstanding features--I sat out in a 2 hour rainstorm at a football game in this jacket and didn't even need an umbrella! I was dry and warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Goodbys Good jacket but could be improved
I bought this jacket because I was looking for a light-weight but warm coat to wear walking outdoors in the fall and winter. It certainly keeps me warm with just a light sweater or sweatshirt underneath, even in gusty winds. The hood is a nice feature and is roomy enough to pull up over a hat if necessary. The Velcro cuffs keep the cold out and the outer pockets are readily accessible. The inner pocket would be useful for storing a wallet or keys. I chose the blue and it is very attractive ? just what I wanted. I have just a few pet peeves. The jacket zips up snugly above the neck to provide warmth but there is really no good way to wear it partially zipped and folded back so you are comfortable indoors, like shopping at the mall. Also the zipper, which is supposed to be waterproof (and probably is but I didn?t test it), is fairly stiff and somewhat hard to zip. It may loosen up with wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hauoli I love this jacket
This jacket did not arrive even though UPS said it was delivered. I called LL Bean and they immediately sent me a replacement. After I received it, my neighbor who lives at a different address and apartment left it at my door! She had been out of town and apparently the UPS driver could not read, as it was addressed correctly. LL Bean was wonderful and I called them and they billed my credit card for the second one, that I kept and gave to my daughter.
