This Jacket is by far the nicest jacket I have ever owned. I purchased it to replace an old soft shell from a different company that provided little protection from the wind and gave very little warmth. This jacket is much lighter, much more comfortable, and much much warmer. I got this jacket on Friday and was able to test it in heavy rain on Saturday. I was incredibly impressed with its ability to repel water and keep me warm inside. It didn't make me feel clammy either. By the following Tuesday I wore it outside in a snow flurry and I wasn't phased at all.
In a nutshell, this jacket is fantastic. Here are the highlights:
Keeps me warm in 15 degree weather without layering.
Windproof - Blocks out wind (in my region we can get sustained winds of 35-40 mph on a regular basis). The taped zippers help seal out wind, rain, and cold
Lightweight - warmer and less bulky than any jacket I have ever owned.
Waterproof- Withstood heavy Pacific NW rains
Great storage - More pockets than I know what to do with
One last thing. I am 6'1 and weigh 170. Large is a great fit and allows layering. The one downside is its a bit bulky in the stomach and sleeves are about an inch to short (fixed if you order the tall).

This jacket is a nice MID weight jacket. It is very comfortable. It's warmer than the lighter weight jackets but not as heavy as the bigger ones I was considering. The color on the web site is true to the actual color. One of the things I liked about this jacket is that it is a little longer than most, it comes down and covers the hips instead of stopping at the waist and it has draw strings to snug it down. However, the size was a little snug for me. I had ordered an XL but when I received it, the jacket was very snug under the arms and the sleeves were short. I retuned the XL and ordered the XXL. It fit perfectly! I am just under 6 ft and weigh about 220. The non-detachable hood is of ample size and has double adjustments for the head. I do wish it were removeable but I did buy this for use in the rain and would be using the hood when I wear it anyway. There are three zipped pockets on the outside (one on the chest) and another zipped pocket on the inside (at the chest) plus a large mesh pouch. I have not had a chance to test this in the rain but feel confident that it will perform just fine. I will write another review when I have tested it. This jacket is exactly what I was looking for! My wife likes it so well that see wants to get one for herself.

Great fit (6'4" ordered XL tall), great warmth. A super jacket to handle wet cold days in Toronto. Winter just doesn't seem to pack a strong punch anymore and this jacket will be a staple for a long time. A little pricey, but you get a lot.

This coat is just what I need on the wet chilly days we face in Annapolis. It's long enough to fully cover a sweater and it fits well in medium size. The warmly lined zippered side pockets are a nice feature.

Rated 4 out of 5 Great jacket....but it runs small
I loved this jacket. Plenty of pockets, smart design, warm....but it RUNS SMALL. For bigger men with broad shoulders/lats the XXL will run tight. I have plenty of XXL jackets that are plenty big for me, but this jacket is cut tight in the shoulder/lat area and is just too snug a fit. Otherwise a great jacket....

Rated 2 out of 5 by CNYBill Not worth the money
The coat was the right size but was big in the chest. Poor fit. Moss Kakhi is really drab, and there are no very good colors. $129 is a lot of money for this jacket and nothing about it made me feel it was worth it, Very ordinary.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CAavocadofarmer Item received not as shown in photo
I purchased this jacket based on the items features and it's positive reviews. I was looking for an insulated rain jacket for our mild but sometimes wet California Central Coast winter weather. The marketing photo of the jacket shows 3 exposed zippers that blend in nicely with the fabric. Even when using the zoom feature, the zippers look to have a mat finish that compliments the outer shell. Unfortunately, on the jacket I received the 3 zippers and the 3/4 inch of fabric that they are adhered to, look like 3 very shiny cheap plastic strips (like shiny strips of black duct tape). As a long time LL Bean customer, I can only guess that quality control was somewhere asleep at the wheel on this one.

I've been using this jacket for over a month and I appreciate it more each time I use it. I use this in Pacific Northwest coastal areas with lots of rain and winter temps in the upper 30's - low 40's. It works well with a "layered" approach, and fits well both layered and not. It's not highly "technical", in that there aren't an overabundance of pockets and no velcro, which I appreciate. At the same time, it's watertight and the hood is just right for keeping my glasses dry.

I love the weight and cut of this coat, however I feel the zipper should have been either larger or made of metal. Also, the hood does not lay flat when not in use which can irritate and is just not a good look.
On the plus side, it is great in a very wide range of temps.
