Rated 1 out of 5 by JVfromVA Aren't made for regular feet
I ordered a pair in my size, size 12. They were way too narrow for my average width feet. So I exchanged them at my local LL Bean store (excellent customer service as usual) for size 13. The size 13 has the proper width but is an inch too long. I will return these for a refund which is unfortunate because I love LL Bean products in general. I'll never buy their shoes again though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by 30yearBeanCustomer Shoe Laces are to short
The issue is not with the shoes, it?s that the laces are not long enough, you can?t tie them in a bow.
Disappointed that the only solution offered was to return the shoes or purchase new laces myself as LL Bean does not carry longer laces for the shoes.

I've been warring the shoes for a week. After the short break in period there very comfortable. Only problem is the laces are so short. I can hardly get a decent knot tied. Looking for a new longer pair of laces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ARegularGuy Excellent shoe, but NEEDS a break in period
I was ready to return these shoes, but my wife convinced me to go through the break in process. Boy am I glad; these are fantastic shoes, they look great and are unbelievably comfortable. Especially when I am walking all day. Please don't be discouraged by other reviewers! Yes, they are tight out of the box, BUT they will stretch to accommodate your foot in about a week; as Bean claims. Once they have molded to your foot, they are amazing!

These are extremely narrow, as noted elsewhere, and the laces weren't even long enough for me to get them laced up, even if I skipped one set of holes!

Rated 2 out of 5 by diaz no longer awesome..??
what!? I had bought two of these last year b/c they were waterproof, and i wore them EVERYWHERE, especially living in Seattle.
These shoes WERE hard to come by, but apparently they don't make them waterproof anymore (yet still the same price?) so now they're just like any other suede bucks....such a shame I came back to buy 2 more again..

Rated 2 out of 5 by Paul112 Super long
These are insanely long, I did half a size up for some reason (11, instead of 10.5), and they're over an inch and a bit too long. They look like clown shoes on my feet, its way more than half a size too large.
They're nice shoes but the sizes are extremely weird.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 1946and1967 Too narrow
Love Bean products generally, but these shoes are way, way too narrow. I ordered them in Medium width, returned them, and then in wide..........and returned them again! And trust me, I don't have a particularly wide foot, if anything a bit narrow.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mrbubbat45 Long and narrow
These shoes are well made of nice materials but they are sized very strangely. They seem to be extra long and very narrow. I wear a very average 10 D with no width or instep issues. The 10 Ds I got had about an inch of extra room in the toe and were obviously narrow. I couldn't get the lacing flaps very close together at all. I exchanged them for 9.5 EE. Length was better but I couldn't see any real difference in the width. Still can't lace the flaps very close and the shoelaces are too short. They fit fine and are comfortable but I've got to get some longer laces. If you have wide feet at all, steer clear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by NarrowMinded Very Nice, But Very Narrow
I am an eighteen year-old in great shape, and have completely normal feet. Still, these shoes were too narrow to fit my feet inside. I loosened the laces all the way, but was barely able to squeeze in my foot. However, it would not be fair to only criticize this shoe. Accordingly, I should mention that they are lightweight, well-built, premium quality, business casual shoes, which look very sleek with khaki/polo outfits. It also comes in a light tan color, which is very nice.
Yet, the narrowness of the shoes overshadowed these positive features for the most part. I think L.L. Bean should consider pulling this model from its catalog because I see a few similar criticisms listed in the reviews section. Overall, I rate this 2 out of 5 for the reasons above. Hopefully I am not being overly critical, after all these are 'just' a pair of shoes.
