These are the coolest boots! The leather is soft and high quality with an attractive and subtle pebble grain design. They are very lightweight - like high-top bluchers! I purchased the black which is an awesome color (almost a black/blue) with contrasting deep/light brown taslan laces! They also have the throwback soles - perfect!

This is called a boot, probably because of its about 6" height, but is more like a casual shoe. The leather is supportive but soft and flexible. The inside leather lining makes it very comfortable for me. The breakin time was short, a few days of wear. The lacing and moveable sides allow the shoe to be comfortable for different sock thicknesses. If available I would wear a C width and this boot fits with some room to spare.
Because of the leather lining the Signature Eastport Handsewns are my favorite casual shoes.

Growing up in the Blucher Moccasins my whole life, I'd always wished there were a Hi-Top version or a Boot version like the Wallabie-ankle high shoes we'd wear in high school. Well, finally there are the shorter Boots (of which I own 3 pair) and now these taller L.L.Bean Signature Boots & now I have both the Brown & the Black pairs... I could not have designed them any better. The perfect shoe, the perfect boot...they only get better with each wearing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jimmystewart I really like these
For years I wore the original LL Bean four eyelet mocs. When the Signature label came out I switched to the Signature version (same sizing, but thicker/stiffer leather and sole) and really liked them. Now I have the boot version and like being able to mix up the color and height with the same basic style (there is something that I love about the moc toe).
I will definitely buy these (and the low tops), again.
The size is consistent across the original LL Bean mocs and the Signature low tops and boots. I wear a 12 in all versions (FWIW, I think this 12 is a big 12 -- I wear a 13 in ASICS running shoes).
If these are your first pair of Signature mocs, the leather is stiffer, so there's a break in time. And the sole is less sneaker-ish than the original LL Bean mocs, which are grooved and contoured.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MaineSweden Great pair of moc boots
I purchased these after considering way more expensive brands and alternatives.
Ordering shoes on the internet, in my case also from across the atlantic, is always a bit of a gamble. But these fit like a glove straight away. True to size. I don't think they were very tight or narrow from the start as some reviewers say. Just very comfortable. A bit stiff around the topline (not sure if that's the correct term) which is reinforced but it got softer after som uses.
Outsoles a bit thin, like that of a a boat shoe, and not very good for snow or rain. But that's what my Maine Hunting Shoes are for!
Quanlity is very, very good for this price range. One of my best buys so far from LL Bean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GaMAN I love this boot.
I think this boot is great. Looks exactly like the picture. The boot is narrow and while it ran about 1/2 size big, I think it was a good decision buying my true size because I can tell if they were smaller they would rub against my small toe. When I wear thick socks or double up they fit perfectly. Overall I recommend them because they definitely attract loads of compliments.

The leather is thick and somewhat soft. I imagine it gets supple with wear. The brown is a deep "coffee bean" shade and they hit maybe an inch or two above the ankle. Unfortunately for me, they were incredibly narrow--the inner portion of my foot ( instep, I believe) was not supported by the slim but dense sole.
I would re-order if a wide became available.
