Rated 4 out of 5 by SBerwickMainer Been testing these boots since fall 2012
Great boots! I had not planned on buying these boots, but was looking for a new mid weight boot from LL Beans. The boots had to be durable, light weight, comfortable and waterproof. These were even better! They don't have boot laces to get soggy, frozen or tripped on! Love the BOA System, as it can easily adjust to the different weight socks you wear. The boots are very comfortable and certainly seem waterproof as I have been using them since Fall of 2012. There are a good looking boot which blend well with jeans, winter gear or chinos! The new fabric is certainly tough, but I'm still a bit skeptical. Certain areas are developing creases that I'm concerned may degrade and cause waterproof issues. I love these boots and know "if" I experience a problem LL Beans will back them.

Rated 5 out of 5 Great For Adventure Motorcycling As Well
I ride a rather large Adventure motorcycle ie it is designed to go off road as well as on the Highway.
I had long been searching for a boot which was tough, waterproof, breathable (Goretex or similar) and which had a speed lacing system. All of these were non-negotiable. I had nearly given up when I happened upon LLBean who were promoting the Technical Upland boot which appreared to fit all my criteria. When I noted that a fellow motorcyclist had given these boots a big tick, I placed my order.
These boots have met every one of my expectations. The Superfabric construction means they are tough - and being waterproof, I can clean them with a hosepipe :-) They are indeed breathable and the bonus: they are comfortable. The Boa lacing system is first class.
If I could wear more than one pair at a time I would buy some more. Outstanding value for money. (Although my wife says they are ugly! LOL)

This boot is amazing. The super fabric lives up to its claims. The boot is comfortable out of the box (although the insert could use some beefing up). I have been in water and snow with no leaking at all. As an extra bonus the BOA closure is excellent and allows the user to control the tightness of the lace and is much easier than laces.
I am using them now as a tac boot and they are very impressive

Rated 5 out of 5 by JCraig All Day Comfort
As a person with foot issues, boot fit and comfort are paramount. These technical upland boots receive top scores on both. Just returned from a pheasant hunt in Kansas where I walked roughly twelve miles in two days. My feet stayed warm, dry and comfortable. I highly recommend these boots.

Rated 2 out of 5 by brunswickgirl Comfortable but DISAPPOINTED
I have gotten 3 pairs of these boots for my husband. He has issues with his hands so the twist tight lacing was ideal for him. But after about 2 weeks with the first pair he had the same problem with his boots as others seem to have had. the right boot seam split open. I took them back and returned them only to have the boot split open again. My husband loves the boots. they are one of the most comfortable pairs of boots he has worn. But now after 3 pairs it seems the quality of the boot is lacking and that we are going to have to get boots that lace up instead. We live in maine and love bean's so we will continue to shop here but these boots are a disappointment to us. Not the quality we are use to seeing from L.L. Bean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by WineGuy I love these boots but the quality lacking
I love these boots and have only had them for three months but mine have suffered the same issue as the customer from Wisconsin. The seam on the one boot has totally split apart leaving a gaping hole in the one and the other boot is starting to do the same and I only use them to walk my dogs. I?m going to have to return these for a refund, very disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BrazenBuckle Overall Happy with a minor Squeak
Thought about buying these the last time LL Bean had them but waited and got this new run. Thought the price was a bit steep but I was looking for a lightweight, easy to lace, waterproof speed boot for light bird hunting and deer hunting in South Carolina.
Overall, I've been very happy with the boots. Did some pheasant hunting with them and they were very comfortable after a long day in the field. I find them very lightweight and comfortable walking the woods to the deer stand and stalk hunting deer. They are still waterproof and I love the easy lace and easy off features of the lacing. The weight for me is perfect for the terrain hunting in Upstate South Carolina.
My only criticism is the right boot has a squeak in it when walking - like a layer of the soles didn't get enough glue when assembling. If it keeps up - I may send back for a new pair from LL Bean as it's a bit annoying when stalking game.
Overall - great boots!

Rated 1 out of 5 by goennerc not for me
It took about 10-15 days of good hunting on SD roads and Iowa grass land before the seem split on the Right front boot. It took under 5 days for the 2nd pair of boots to split in the same spot. The quick lace system was fun but never got tight enough on the ankles. Would not recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MtnTech Great Boots to Keep You Dry!
Overall I have been very pleased with my Gore-Tex Technical Upland Boots. These boots have a great fit for me, and are very comfortable to wear. A contributor to their comfort is that for such a rugged boot, they are also very lightweight. The Boa lace system made me skeptical at first, but I have found the Boa lace system to work well, if not better than regular laces. This lace system tightens the laces evenly, and once the right tension is found, they do not loosen or come untied like traditional lace do. These boots have also been effective at keeping my feet dry in some very wet conditions and this is partly due to the upper fabric which does a great job at helping repel the water. However, do remember that like any Gore-Tex waterproof fabric, it does need to be maintained properly (i.e. cleaned and treated with DWR) to continue to be waterproof. All in all, I would definitely recommend these boots.
As a disclaimer, I am a ?Gore MountainTech? and test products for Gore.

Rated 2 out of 5 by canyonduck Mighty Comfortable, but......
The comfort hit the magic 10+ rating, but they leak. And... they are not particularly warm (I know and knew they were uninsulated). Even while moving, the feet were colder than I would have expected.
