Rated 4 out of 5 by abelle2000 Great cold weather gloves!
Spending 30 minutes outside shoveling in a blizzard a couple of weeks ago showed me that I needed to replace my 15+ year old GoreTex ski gloves. I did a lot of research and found the Arete from Outdoor Research. All of the reviews were great, so I decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did!
Shoveling in this last snowstorm was a very different experience. My hands were warm and toasty and totally dry. These gloves are also thin, so you still have pretty good dexterity. These gloves would be perfect if the liner could be used with a touch screen phone. Otherwise I would have given them 5 stars.

I don't know what the purpose of these gloves are. They are complicated, and if you want warmth, these are not the gloves to buy.

I knew LLBean would have the best gloves for me. These layered gloves fit snugly and it is nice having the built in pocket for hand warmers for days I need to be out in the snow for a few hours dealing with snow. I do look like an LLBean ad outside. The best snow pants, jacket, and now gloves.

Don't buy these gloves. I will be returning them.
My favorite gloves from LL Bean ripped so I needed new gloves. The store's online site was sold out of the gloves I wanted so I decided to try these.
Following the recommended measurements, I ordered a small. The gloves are tight (and my hands are very small). I couldn't even bend my fingers.
They' don't keep your fingers warm. Is it necessary for the cords to be so long?
The bottom line is these gloves are not worth $89

I thought these would be warm since my hands are getting so cold this winter and the description said "Outdoor Research". Warm they are not. They might be fine for wearing in the spring when temperatures are in the 30's but nothing colder. I plan to return these and look elsewhere for cold weather gloves.

My hands often get cold when I'm skiing, and I have a hard time finding waterproof gloves that fit my small hands and still keep them warm. Most women's gloves sized "small" are usually a little too big, but these fit me perfectly. I especially like the long gauntlet, which prevents snow getting up my coat cuffs, and the toggle to tighten the end of the gauntlet is easy to cinch up and loosen, even with a gloved hand. I also like that I can remove the liners and use my battery-operated heated liners when it gets really cold!
