This topper is great. After buying a new mattress set, we realized that many new mattresses ?sleep hot? ? whether because of the now mandatory flame-retardant fabric sewn into top layer, or new types of foam within. Wanting to stay away from foam toppers, I took the chance on this. The great thing is that even though all the descriptions like ?warm? and ?cozy? are true, it is also tempurature-regulating so that you stay cool ? I?ve been using it in the heat of the summer and have been completely comfortable ? The topper ?breathes?, so you are not too hot or too cold. No wonder the feather bed concept has been around for centuries! This is not a bit of fluff to go on top of your bed.. It?s serious bedding ? quite heavy. The layer of down keeps you from feeling any feather quills. You do have to shape it now and then ? but oh, is it worth it.

My husband and I have been fretful about the expensive, but oddly-uncomfortable, too-firm, non-returnable mattress we purchased almost a year ago. It just occurred to me to try a feather bed. I looked at less-expensive options on all sites across the internet, but this LLBean option seemed to be the one that was just going to deal with the problem without creating new ones. It was delivered promptly and we are thrilled. Top quality, so comfortable. We even took an impromptu 2-hour nap yesterday in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. You have saved our mattress!

According to the tag on my new down topped feather bed, it was delivered to the U.S. in October 2010! That means it sat on a warehouse shelf all bunched up for an extended length of time. That might explain why the feathers no longer fluff and there is a big wad of feathers shoving at my shoulder blade. The item arrived in an old beat-up box. Where was it for the past 18 months? Hmm? In the picture it looks like two layers, but it actually does not look like that. From the exterior, it is only possible to discern one layer.

I was looking for something to make my current bed softer. I spoke to an LLBean customer service person to describe my back problem; she recommended the down topped featherbed. It is absolutely wonderful, very soft and the down top cushions against any feathers.
Best Christmas present I ever bought for myself!
It's a little expensive, but definitely worth it. The quality is great. I also bought the featherbed cover. (Silky, thick fabric, excellent quality.)

I have been using this feather bed for about 3 weeks now and I love it! I had been wanting one for a long time and am so happy I finally purchased this one from LL Bean. Based on the other reviews, I decided to put it under my regular mattress pad, and it has been great! The only problem is---I don't want to get out of bed in the morning! So comfy to get into at the end of the day. I usually fluff it up whenever I think about it, but could probably go a long time without. Definitely would recommend!

We recently purchased this and have had it on the bed for a few weeks. It is very comfortable. It is well constructed and should last for years. It is pricey, but it is well worth it.

I used the feather bed for a number of months and really enjoyed using it. However there was one problem with the product. The feather bed shifts every few days and requires that it be repositioned on the mattress. Since my single bed is against the wall this was difficult to do with one side of the mattress to work with. Another way to reposition the feather bed was to release the four corners of the fitted sheet, reposition the feather bed and then reinstall the fitted sheet. After a while this grew tiring. I have since return the product. I do not know if the feather bed would shift on a larger mattress.

well made, fits well. just misses 5 stars. would merit 5 stars if top fill were thicker. still, very good value, especially compared to other featherbed tops.

This feather bed is AMAZING! It literally feels like I'm sleeping in clouds. I would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a feather bed or a cheaper alternative to buying a new mattress!
