Rated 4 out of 5 by ExBeanShopper123 Updated Review
My original review was for the medium jacket and my problem was the sleeve length was too short. I exchanged it for a large and although the body is a bit roomy the sleeves are a perfect length. I recommend ordering up a size if you are worried about the sleeves. It really is a great coat for the price.

This is a very nice down jacket and I have it in another color and this time I ordered the purple but was disappointed at the color, it leans more towards a burgundy than a purple, I am returning it because I wanted purple. Other than that the jacket is true to size and comfortable and I am satisfied with the quality too.

Despite other reviews that the sleeves were too short, I ordered this coat. It's a nice warm coat but I must return because of the same problem everyone else seems to be having. This will be the last business I do with LL Bean. I'm tired of the poor quality of the items they sell.

The "plum" color is not purple as shown in photo it leans more towards a burgundy....I needed purple so I am returning this jacket BUT... I do have this same jacket in pink and the jacket itself is very nice so I ordered a second one, but the color not to my liking on this one :-(

Rated 4 out of 5 by dlovin Nice, warm jacket with room for improvement
Warm and comfortable without the weight and bulk. As other reviewers have mentioned, sleeves are on the short side, but tolerable for "in and out" use. Would need gloves with a gauntlet or long cuffs if outside for an extended time in cold or snow. Not really happy with the elastic cuffs as the sleeve end either . . . . seems a straight outer (longer) sleeve with an inner cuff would be more appropriate for a jacket of this quality. Still, I chose to keep the jacket for it's warmth, lightweight and comfortable attributes.

I have loved this jacket as it keeps me warm in Alaska, but why did LLBean have to change the styling? The microfiber on the inside of the coat is going to snag on fleece. The slippery lining that came with the old style was better. This is a dealbreaker for me in buying the coat again. The storm flap and buttons also aren't to my liking, but I could have done that. LLBean, why change a good thing?

After reading all the negative reviews, I felt I must put a positive one. Still in fabulous shape after 5 seasons, very few feathers (only a few after washing). At time of purchase I weighed 155 and am 5'4" and purchased a large, still fits great! I do live in a warm climate now, so I probably won't wear it as much. One of my best purchases!

I am extremely happy with my down jacket. Blue jay is a gorgeous color. I am 5'2", 110 pounds, & size small fits perfectly. These are the BEST down jackets. I wear them from 20 degrees to 40 degrees below zero.

I bought this jacket for myself a year and a half ago and I love it and have worn it through 2 winters already. I was looking to buy another one for myself and also for my daughter, but I just noticed that the "new" version of this jacket has the front flap over the zipper. I don't like the look nor the functionality of that flap. The version of this jacket that I bought does not have the flap and that is one of the many reasons why I purchased it. I don't like those flaps over the zipper. Oh well. I really wish they had not changed this jacket.

I really want to love this jacket...but I don't. I've been wearing it for a few months and it keeps me comfortable and warm. I like the style and the colors are great (pink and gray). However, I have to pick feathers off my clothing nearly every time I wear it. My biggest complaint about this jacket is the sleeve length. I'm just on the edge of a petite person (5'4") and there is a 2-3 INCH gap from the top of my gloves to the sleeve of the jacket. This is unacceptable in a cold Wisconsin winter. I don't want to sent it back, but I know I won't wear it next winter because of the lack of coverage on my lower arms. What size person is the jacket made for? Unsatisfactory purchase.
