Rated 3 out of 5 by corokay beautiful slippers
These slippers are beautifully made and comfortable. However after wearing these for approximately six weeks the padding in the heels is compacting so much so that I am pronating terribly causing knee pain. It would be nice if there was a removable insole so I could at least add one with some support. I love wearing them but I can feel my feet leaning inward each time I wear them They need to put a better quality padding that is more resilient and can resist becoming compacted in such a short amount of time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HighPowerSugar Super warm, wish they came in half sizes
These slippers are absolutely beautiful, the leather is gorgeous and the shearling is so very warm. (I'm a tiny and cold person, so I don't give the term "warm" out loosely) But they appear to be of very good quality. My only issue is that I am a 6 1/2, and these only come in whole sizes. I ordered a 7, but they are just a tiny bit too big and I'm afraid that the part where the slipper rubs against my heel will wear off over time. But I can't be positive yet. I'm 100% positive that a 6 would be too small. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this purchase and only gave a four star because of the lack of half sizes.

Although these slippers are warm and very comfortable, I find the leather laces come untied all of the time. I find this annoying and dangerous as I'm worried that I will trip on them. If they weren't a gift, I would send them back. I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned this. I think that you should be able to put your slippers on without worrying about tying laces that serve no purpose several times a day. I think I'm going to try gluing them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cachimbona Durable, warm, and cozy
My last pair of similar L.L. Bean slippers lasted for more than 30 years. I mostly wore them inside the house, but they also held up to brief trips out to the car in my gravel driveway. I even wore them to stroll around a mountain finca in Colombia in 1979! I normally wear size 7.5 medium width. I had originally ordered an 8.0 as suggested at the website, but found them to be a little too roomy. Size 7.0 fits comfortably snug in my bare feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2blackrabbits Love them! Wear barefooted.
These are sooo comfortable! Best worn Bare Footed so you benefit from the soft fur directly on your feet (don't worry, it won't smell-wool is antibactierial)t I have a narrow foot and they fit well in my normal size (I have the brown leather). Can be worn outside for quick trips to get the paper, but not meant as a normal shoe due to the leather bottom (it will scuff up if worn on pavement a lot). Only available seasonly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NewEnglandPreppy Beautiful, but HOT
I have them in the raisin color, and they look great. They are nicely formed (I hate when one toe is bending off at a funny angle), and they look comfortably refined. They are comfortable. The length seems about right. They are slightly wide, but that's fine with me. But, man, are these things HOT! I usually keep the heat in the house set from 66 to 68, and these slippers are often too hot for me to wear. I was expecting them to be like the sheepskin slippers that breathe, but they don't breathe much. It makes sense when I think about it, because it's actually a leather shell with a shearling lining glued into it. They really trap heat though. If you're really looking for something that keeps you warm, then go for it. These will do the trick. But it you only need a little bit of protection, you may want to get the unlined version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by folkartbliss Pretty wonderful slippers
I first ordered the bison shearling lined slippers in natural. I always wanted some really good slippers so I splurged on these. The quality was obvious and they look beautifully crafted. But when I put them on, they were too wide at the heel and wouldn't stay on my feet without thick socks. The length is ok, so I was afraid getting a smaller size would be too short for my foot. I returned them for another pair in the same size 8 but in the raisin color. These fit much better. They stay on my feet and are really comfortable. I am wondering if the leather on the white slippers is treated differently and maybe stretches out wider than the raisin colored leather which seems a bit stiffer? Anyhow, I am really happy with my purchase despite having to exchange them!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Winniwoman Web Pictures Deceiving
Be careful when you look at pictures on this site of products. I bought these slippers because they were touted as having a "double sole" and the web site picture showed an apparent separate insert. I thought I could remove the inserts, as I successfully have with other LL Bean shoes, and replace it with my orthotic inserts. This is not possible because, unlike the picture, the inner sole is actually sewn right into the slipper. I am very disappointed as I am looking for a sturdy leather slipper to use around the house and I thought I had found it here.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SouthwestLLBeanShopper Women's Double-Sole Slippers, leather lined
I read the reviews before ordering these slippers and decided to order my normal medium width, as I will be wearing socks with the slippers in the winter. When I first tried them on, they were a little roomy. I put foam sole inserts inside (as I have done with other slightly large shoes in the past) and this did the trick. I am still in the break-in period. But for the required modification, I would have given them 5 stars.
