Rated 2 out of 5 by OldSchool Way Too Small
I have shopped through Bean for decades and have found that jackets, shirts, and vests have fit reliably throughout most that time. However, these jackets run VERY small. I ordered two larges to be careful. I should have ordered a large and extra large. The large is quite snug and really a medium. What is disappointing is I already own a number of older LL Bean jackets in size large, including Polartec ones and they fit fine. These aren't the first items with which I have had a sizing issue. While, of course I will always order from Bean, I won't be able to rely on sizing to be consistent. (As an example: I ordered a large mini-waffle knit shirt as well and it fits quite well).

The cut is tapered around the waist not for the mature male as many of my peers are.

I have an older version of this jacket, which I love. I have worn the older version of this jacket for several years at work and play and it has held up great, but was starting to show its age. I ordered a new one about six months ago and I am disappointed. The sleeves are way too long and hang almost to my knuckles. The sleeves do not have elastic at the cuffs, which the older version had and keeps the sleeves from falling too far down or riding up. The jacket is also slightly fitted, which I do not like and I don't think was specified in the product description at the time. And, the fabric feels thinner. I wish I would have returned it.

This is a athletic fit jacket that is a great base layer. Really tight in the chest....shows off my huge pecks..

Rated 5 out of 5 by drumbuzzer Super comfort!
Received this as a gift in the gold color. I loved the color but went online anyway to see it in green. Wrapped it up in the bag, sent it to LLBean and had the green one in less than 2 weeks. You cannot beat Bean's return policy. The jacket is very comfortable, weight is perfect, it fits well and it will work for California winters and cold, foggy San Francisco summer nights. What amazes me about it is how well its whisks moisture and perspiration. Best jacket I've had in a long time. Now I want another one - perhaps in gold, once again. Maybe Christmas....

Rated 4 out of 5 by DWGtraildog Sleeves too long for a Large /Reg.
Jacket fit and functions great, except that the sleeves are 1.5 inches too long for me. I am 5'9" HT. I have a 34 " sleeve. My jacket is a size Large/w a regular cut. The sleeve must be close to a 36" sleeve. Its annoying. Otherwise pocket and material are excellent for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 great fleece
I have two of these, black and gray, the gray one the sleeves stretched out, sent it back, they sent me a new one. I'm over 6 ft so the tall size is what keeps me coming back to LL Bean. The upper breast pocket is essential for the phone. They have made a few changes with the wrist on the new ones, it's more of a collar than the old elastic. It's an excellent fleece.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gypsophila color not as shown
My monitor shows a blue that I took as more royal blue than the "navy" it calls itself. It is certainly a bright blue but with enough green in its makeup that it comes across as a very dark and intense swimming pool blue. I don't much like it but it is OK by my husband so we are keeping it. Also, what is it about Bean's sleeves? I have shortish arms so all Bean's sleeves hang to my knuckles, but my husband has broad shoulders and normal arms but he needs to roll the sleeves of this jacket back an inch or an inch or so to get the sleeve off the backs of his hands. Other than that?. It is medium weight, not as thick as his Columbia fleece. It is a straight cut, fits more closely to the body than his Columbia. Both of these factors make it seem like a cheaper jacket than its price would suggest. As if economy over quality was Bean's goal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by frankthetank Great basic fleece
This is a great barebones staple fleece that everyone should own. Warm enough for a fall/spring jacket but better as a winter layer under a shell. Fleece is super-soft, do not put in dryer!! A little bit fitted but flattering.
