Rated 2 out of 5áby State Fleece?
I recently purchased what I thought was a fleece vest to replace one that I had also purchased from L.L. Bean years ago. When it arrived it wasn't fleece as advertised but a polyester and spandex blend. Don't purchase this vest if you really want fleece. Disappointed in Virginia.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Iceman272 Good fit, stretchy and just warm enough.
I saw these in the catalog and went to my local retail store to check them out on a 25% off day. There were other fleece choices at the store but these had the best combination of overall quality and value for the $59 retail price. I wish more colors were available but I bought 2 anyway. My desire was to find something semi-technical, suitable to wear as an outer layer on cool days for around town and on the trail. Also, I wanted to be able to use the vest as a mid-layer on wintry hikes and snowshoe treks. The fit is trim and the material is stretchy. The "red" is actually a fiery orange?perhaps the best of the available colors.

Rated 5 out of 5áby MaxxdeMaine Perfect for Fall, Spring and California Winters
This vest is it! It feels and looks like and feels like a softshell but is actually a fleece.
I am originally from Maine but find myself on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. My Maine upbringing has given me a hearty appetite for the outdoors and a tolerance for crazy weather. Here is the thing though - crazy weather does not really exist in California. The lowest temperature I have ever seen in the Sierra Foothills during the day is about 58 during the winter but it is usually in the mid to high 60s throughout the fall and winter. If I wear a jacket I overheat just because it is not that cold out. With this vest I am able to get a great wind protective layer that keeps me just warm enough without overheating.
I am a serious outdoor recreationalist. A runner, hiker, mountain biker, skier, mountaineering. This vest covers all of the bases. Its my go to.
This vest is perfect for those who do outdoor activities who tend to overheat with a full on jacket. It is especially good for temperatures in the 55s-70s with wind.

The fleece is thin but the wind doesn't get through... feels lightweight but has heavy duty warmth.

Rated 5 out of 5áby MikefromMaryland Great for bicycling
I bought this vest because I was looking for something to keep my core warm while bicycling on cool fall days. It's perfect. Close fitting without being restrictive. Blocks the wind without making you feel like you are riding inside a plastic bag. My new favorite!

Rated 5 out of 5áby Idratherbehiking Awesome vest
This is a great vest. The outer material doesn't absorb moisture like a traditional fleece. It also has a bit of stretch to it and can be worn tight if that's what you like.

Rated 3 out of 5áby BilgeRat Wrong Color
This vest was ordered via the internet. The color shown on my monitor and smart phone appeared to be tan or light brown. When I received it, it was actually a pea soup green.
Check your color before your order as the colors on the web site are misleading.
