I haven't seen quality like this is over 30 years! It was absolutely sensational and was the most handsome man's coat I've had my hands on in years. Everything was perfect. But my husband is handicapped and it was too heavy for him. He can barely stand up. I am going to look to see if the company makes women's peacoats, too, as they make the coats for the US Navy and I've always wanted an official peacoat. If they could make a little lighter version of this coat, I'd buy it for my husband in a minute. Don't let my return discourage you. Your buyers hit on the perfect coat if a man wants warmth, class, disctinction and style!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLHipster Excellent Value, Build, Materials, Authenticity
Purchased online knowing that the blue was much more navy (darker) than the website hue.
Well constructed and flawless.
Fit is as advertised. I'm a 44 and I bought the Medium...perfect fit over a sweater or suit jacket
Drapes nicely, no wrinkles or bunching, you can tell this is built with care and pressed often in construction
The design is timeless. No modern or trendy funkiness, just classic Duffel
The only small issue is the toggle materials seem out of character and I'm sure for a few cents more something more authentic could be used
While they may be leather they sure look and feel vinyl
I still love the coat - money well spent compared to the salon brands I looked at 2-3x the price for an inside label and less authenticity

Rated 4 out of 5 by OrangeCTHiker Warm and good quality
It is nice to see a coat this well made, and made in the USA! The material is heavy and very thick. It is warm and I believe will last for years. The coat runs a little big. I am very broad shouldered, and usually wear a medium to a large. I got the medium, which fit me perfect at the shoulders, but it was very large at the waist - I took it to the tailor who did an excellent job taking it in a few inches in the middle. (The tailor also remarked at the quality of the coat.) My only complaints about the coat are that the hood is not removable and the pockets that are underneath the cargo pockets are a little far back to make using them for your hands a little uncomfortable. This was even so before I had the coat taken in.

This is a desktop review...but I wanted to point out that this coat runs it's sizes very big. I am 5'7 180lbs with a broad shoulders and a chest size of 44". I am in average shape. I bought the large according to the chest size, which turned out to be huge. I was swimming in it. The sleeves where too wide and long. The chest was several inches too big even under a really thick sweater and finally this coat flares out at the bottom, so it was like wearing a ginormous cloth bell. I exchanged it for a medium which is still a hair bigger than I usually wear, but can easily add a layer underneath.
The over all quality seems great, it is very thick and protective. I was disappointed with the toggles and the "leather" attachments in the front of the coat. It seems that this is the only area that the quality is lacking. The toggles are plastic and feel cheap (they seem solid though) and I suspect the "leather" that holds them on are plastic as well. For such a great coat these things feel out of place in regards to overall quality. However I have no doubt these toggles/attachments will serve their purpose adequately.
In summary this is a well built coat that will be passed down to my son providing it stands up to real life as well it's appearance suggests.

This is a very nice coat. I bought a Navy blue one to replace a like coat in camel I bought over ten yrs ago. The old one was starting to show some wear in the elbows, and the zipper had pulled loose from one side at the bottom. Very warm coats.
I am a little bit disappointed they still doen't have a double zipper, the bottom is under a lot of stress when you get in and sit in a car, and the zipper eventually pulls loose. Also, the toggles and straps appear to be plastic, and they were leather and wood on the old one. Would rather have paid a few bucks more to maintain quality.

The color is so much better than the online photo. It's a warm..."Egyptian" sand color--light camel, let's say. Leather for the toggles, button pockets on the bottom, cotton-lined ( black) and incredibly enough, made in the USA!
However, I returned mine because being on the smaller side at 5'9", the hem was about four inches above my knee. That would be great if it were that this had a two-way zipper but it doesn't. So sitting down was a little uncomfortable for me and the two smallish interior pockets ( enough to hold a wallet, sunglasses and keys) were harder to reach with the zipper going only one way. Also it is a very small zipper. I wear your "M" size leather winter gloves and it was difficult to zip this up without paying too much attention to doing it. The hood is large , easily accommodating my "L" size head but because of the collar which does not lie flat, it did not cover my face as fully as it should impeded by the erect collar ( easily blown off by a moderate wind). The stiff collar also kept rubbing against my jaw and I found that intolerable after a few minutes. Finally, a comparatively minor quibble: you should have included a more traditional plaid lining rather than this black which adds nothing to the lovely "Oak" colored fabric. Oh, and the locker loop is much too light and will not last--this is a heavy coat.
I am certain many will like this coat, but being used to more traditional duffels I have to pass on this. Give it a try and leave a review like me!
