Rated 4 out of 5 by BBQBob1273 V not deep enough!
The fabric is soft and comfortable. The slim fit is not so tight as to be uncomfortable around my middle. My only gripe is that, as others have observed, the V is not deep enough and shows through an open collar.

Rated 4 out of 5 by gmcsales good quality tee shirt
I purchased 2 tee shirts to see how they were. After wearing them and washing them they seem to be of good quality but greatly over-priced. If you ran some special I would purchase a lot more.

As I've gotten older and vainer I have decided to hide my need to layer when I wear an unbuttoned sport shirt sometimes. I have enjoyed other Bean tees, so I continued using the Bean convenience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mlsmsw Nothing more than an undershirt.
Poorly constructed, the fabric is askew, so after the first washing, the entire shirt is askew. As a result, it cannot be lain flat or folded properly or worn comfortably. Made of lightweight cotton, it is nothing more than a v-neck undershirt, and, as such, is grossly overpriced; this is a five dollar "Haynes" item cleverly and fashionably marketed as "layering."

Rated 2 out of 5 C-Neck vs. V-Neck
The purpose of a V-Neck tee-shirt is to have the "V" cut low enough so one's undershirt does not show at the neck of one's sports shirt. I call L.L. Bean's V-Necks "C-Necks," because they can be "Ceen" under all but the highest of sport shirt fronts. If one wears only made-for-Maine-winters sports shirts, LLB's V-Necks, may be OK. But for run-of-the-mill sports shirts worn in California, including most of those purchased from L.L. Bean, the "V" is not cut low enough. Perhaps LLB's tee-shirt buyer(s) should talk with their designers and suppliers about the V-Neck's purpose. If LLB wants a photo of a satisfactory vs. unsatisfactory V-Neck, please let me know.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MPURCinSC Works for me
I've got a zillion other beefier Bean tshirts (both crew and henley collar) and love them. Wanted something lighter and with a v-neck to sleep in (not binding around the neck), so this fit the bill. The only irritation is the info label sewed into the seam in the lower inside of the shirt, which is easily remedied with a pair of scissors. Fit and washability all good.

Spot on as described, excellent. Versatile, can be used alone as tee shirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WLYD Nice light weight fabric
Really like the very light weight fabric. Not too heavy/think under another shirt. Even ok to wear by itself on a real hot day. Would like to see offered in more than just white and grey. LLBean generally does no have V-Neck t-shirts for men so this shirt is a nice variation.

How can you justify charging so much more than your crew neck
un-shrinkable tee shirt? Plus who is your buyer? Have they ever heard of colors? Get with it or the company will be like others that are long gone due to lame buyers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Treyton The SUPER SOFT Bean's Layering T, V-Neck
When LL Bean said SOFT, they meant it. I've never had a shirt that had the wonderful broken-in feeling right out of the box, but this shirt is the exception.
I have a large selection of the Carefree Unshrinkable T-Shirts, but this has now become my favorite.
