I wanted a light-weight duffle bag to use when I travel for 2-3 days. This bag seemed to be the right choice but I was completely disappointed with it. Crucial problem is that the zipper does not work properly. Every time I pulled the string to close the top of the lid, string come off from the zipper. It's very frustrating. I don't think I bring this bag again when I travel.

I've been looking for the perfect carry-on bag for a while. I've tried several. Although this one isn't perfect, it's very good.
I purchased the medium size so that I can carry it on. Although it looks small, it's bigger than it looks and fits a lot of clothes/stuff. I used it as my main bag for a 10 day trip to Europe and was able to fit everything I needed (I packed light).
The bag seems well built and heavy duty. The zippers, handles and straps all seem good quality. Another reviewer mentioned that the shoulder strap can't be adjusted....I can adjust the strap on my bag on both sides to make it longer or shorter. The padding on the strap is adequate. I had 25 lbs+ in the bag and it carried fine. The strap also removes easily. I checked the bag on the way back to the US and it looked fine (no wear or damage).
The end pockets are good size (one has a built in bag for shoes or dirty items). The side pockets are a little small. I would have liked bigger and more side pockets.
Although I thought I wanted a more rigid bacg, I also wanted a bag that I could fold or crush if it isn't totally full. In the end, I didn't like the sturdy sided bags and elected for crushability so that I could fit it on planes. The bag was very full and it didn't fold or flop...maybe that would be more of an issue with a mostly empty bag.
The metal tube handles seem like a little overkill but worked well. Not sure they're need but not a problem. The straps on top I didn't think I would want but came in handy. I was able to strap a backpack and jacket on top of the bag for easy carrying. This bag does NOT have wheels, which many bags now seem to have. I didn't want the extra weight and bulk of wheels.
So, in summary. Good Quality. Good size. The straps and handles are good. Would have liked more pockets on the sides and inside to hold small items. But, overall, I think this will be my go-to bag for carry-on and for short trips.

I just wanted to add to my previous review that I also thought the straps on top to secure your coat, etc... was a very nice and well thought out idea. That way everything is kept together and secured! It's an excellent bag and I am so happy I purchased it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by rcfsupper wonderful weekend bag
Just got a chance to use this bag for the first time and I loved it! Took a trip to Charleston, SC for a spontaneous weekend adventure. It had ALL the bells and whistles I could ever want for luggage - all the extra pockets, wet pocket, and ruggedness, the good handles for ease in carrying, etc.... The medium is an excellent size for a weekend summer-time getaway. I just ordered the same one in large so I could have matching luggage for trips lasting a little bit longer than a weekend and for winter-time when clothing would be bulkier.

I'm using this as a gym bag and am pleased overall. Positives: plenty of room, very comfortable shoulder strap, several options for holding/carrying the bag, and several exterior pockets. Negatives: No interior pocket, no exterior mesh sleeve for a water bottle, and zippers seem a bit stiff (zipper pulls aren't very comfortable to use, either).

We ordered this duffle for my husband. We also ordered the traverse duffle bag in large. The large is too large and the medium is too small - there isn't really a suitable size in between.
Additionally, there is no form to the bag so when you put it on your shoulder it sags under the weight of the contents - and the contents shift.
The bag contains two adjustable straps that cross over the top - although a nice feature it makes it inconvenient to get in and out of the bag. The carrying strap doesn't allow for adjustment so the bad sits awkwardly on the body
Lastly the zipper doesn't open and close cleanly and smoothly and the zipper pulls don't seem sturdy.
On the positive side, the material seems very durable and water resistant and the carrying strap buckles are very sturdy.
