Rated 2 out of 5 by TVinMD Good fit, poor materials
The shirt fit well and was a slim fit as advertised. However, the material was much too thin, to the point where I would HAVE to wear an undershirt with it (I ordered white, maybe the colors don't have that issue). I don't want to have to do that with a polo. Returned for the Double L Slightly Fitted.

Previously have worn the "slightly fitted" Double L Polo in size S, which I found to be not particularly fitted at all. The Signature polo in size S is a much more "slim fitting" and the fabric is also softer. Definitely recommend these. Wish they came in more colors!

I own a lot of these. Been buying them since the first Signature catalog got released. I am 5'9" tall and 185 lbs. the M is just fine. It's late June, and another set of Signature summer clothing just got released again.. Wow!! New pique polo colors. Yup, maybe a dark turquoise next! Slim fit. It fits great without that looseness. It's NOT boxy either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CompulsiveBuyer Sizing...
Prior to buying this polo shirt I noticed some reviewer said it was too tight, others said it was not slim and some found it to be perfect. Well, sizing seems a bit strange indeed.
I'm 5'8'', 175 pounds. I normally wear medium sized shirt when it comes to regular fit, but in slim fit it varies a lot depending on the company, from medium to large. I tried a large and it fitted pretty good in the shoulders, but way too loose at the waist, not what I would called slim fit at all. Still, I returned it for a medium just in case, thinking that the shoulder would most likely be too tight and probably still too loose at waist, but hey, what a surprise, completely the opposite. Shoulders fits perfect and it is slim, not too slim, but still very slim. There is a massive difference from a medium to a large, so if you wear medium, this will most likely fits you, but if you wear large, you may find it too loose. But hey, with LL Bean easy return, try it and see for yourself.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JBAD NOT slim fit
I have no idea why the website describes this as a slim fit shirt. The label says "LL Bean Signature" and maybe it is assumed that shirts from the signature line are slim fit. This shirt is not. Nothing on the tag says slim fit; the invoice lists the shirt as "M'sR" (presumably regular). When I tried it on, I had to get back on to the website to see if I had simply misordered. I hadn't. This is simply not a slim fit -- at all. I ordered three and they are going back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by UrbanaChamShopper Great Polo!
I've tried on several L.L. Bean Signature items and this is the first one I would give five stars. The design, cut, and quality of the construction is superb. I am 5'11 and roughly 180 pounds with a slender/athletic build. I purchased the "mid-blue heather" in a size large and am thinking about buying the "bright elm" or "molten red." Please: give us more items like this, L.L. Bean!

I ordered 2 of these in grey. They Xlarge and fit like a small. I would not recommend them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PatrickLN Quality appears good but size is off
The quality seems good but the medium I ordered is too small compared to the two medium Premium Double L Polos I also ordered. Those fit my 5'11", 173 lb frame absolutely perfect - perfect length to keep tucked in and just the right amount of room in the sleeves and body. This Signature Saltwash Pique Polo, however, was shorter, narrower, and the sleeves are too tight around my arms. A polo shirt with tight sleeves drives me nuts. I'm returning this for a large. Hopefully the large size doesn't have the opposite problem and is too big.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CanadianBob great collar
I have bought a lot of polos from every conceivable brand and at every price point, and this is one of my favourites.
The best thing about it, which is quite unique, is the collar. It is thick and has just enough stiffness to it that it keeps its shape quite well and stands up nicely. Perfect and the best of all my polos.
The material isn't so different from other pique polos. It is too heavy for really hot weather, which is a common polo problem. The colour is designed to fade and look weathered over time, and it does. The material actually is not as smooth to the touch as the standard LL Bean polos, but it is still comfortable and soft.
The cut is reasonably slim and the sleeves hit mid-bicep. If you have a big belly this won't work for you.
The length works for wear tucked in or out.
Really, the collar is the standout for me on this shirt. It's just perfect.

Definitely agree with the previous reviewer. Absolute best polo shirt I ever wore. It hugs the body and has that trim fit look! I like it. I have many colors and keep collecting more and more. Soft and supple and get better after every wash. NOT using fabric softener does help in preserving the color. Highly recommend these shirts. It enhances the athletic look!!! 5'9" tall , 180 lbs. A medium works for me!
