Excellent fabric and size. fits everything. I miss the bottom, zippered, "gym" pouch from the original messenger bag though.
On a more important design note, the open main compartment is not closed at the strap attach points. I hope this won't let the elements in.
Otherwise great job, great bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by fitnessinparis Excellent for my Daily needs
I am a Fitness Specialist and Personal Fitness Trainer. I had been carrying a small back pack. It was an odd size and I never really felt like it met my needs. I purchased this messenger bag not realizing it was a little larger than I thought it would be.
It Is actually perfect for carrying my % body fat calipers and my clip board with measurement and information sheets. I am in and out of the local Anytime Fitness as well as my personal studio and I prefer not to carry a duffle bag. I would recommend this bag. It has multiple compartments and I can carry my phone, ipod, go payment card reader and any other necessary items I need for work. Thanks for a great product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Cvilleknits Missed opportunity!
This is an ideal bag - if you are 6' or more. Loved the bag, loved the color, features, craftmanship and thoughtful design of interterior. However, at 5'2, it was overwhelming and looked like a duffle when I carried it. Unfortunately, it had to go back. LL Bean is missing out on an enormous opportunity to serve women, particularly those who are not tall. I have searched high and low for a bag that fits my 15" computer and is to scale for my size. The bags offered by Bean tend to be very masculine and they are RARELY shown with a picture of a woman using them. Better pictures, more pictures and a larger range of models would make shopping with Bean so much better! Unfortunately, I had to purchase from a competitor for a professional bag that fits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kayakhfx Finally Organized
On a recent foray into LL Bean I spotted this Messenger Bag. Traveling about to various kayaking locations I often carry a number of resources - maps, charts, guide books, tablet/electronics, and other material with me. Too often they would be in various zip lock bags, shopping bags stuffed into the bottom of some luggage or through out the car. This bag allows me to put everything into 1 convenient, organized location. It has several handy, easily accessible compartments and overall quite roomy. All zippers/straps/buckles appear to be sturdy and easy to use. The one very minor quibble I have is the 'metal' tube on the handle/strap - not my cup of tea - and from my perspective really doesn't add any functionality, so I can only assume it was for esthetic reasons. Aside from that a great bag!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by VTsnowflake Daily Excursions need an Excursion Messenger Bag
I have only had the bag for 3 weeks but I feel I may finally have found the perfect bag! I needed something that was more water proof than the previous messenger bag. Unfortunately I haven't yet taken it out in the rain but I am hopeful. It appears well made, adjustable strap is perfect for me as I'm shorter than most. It's roomy too. At first I thought I would be bothered by the fact that it doesn't have a zipper close but so far the flap closure adhering to the velcro seems to form quite a tight seal and I haven't lost anything out of the bag yet! If you are looking for something durable, waterproof and still stylish to use everyday - this could be the perfect bag!

by OBXBeachGirl Handle broke after three months
After three months of normal business use, the handle broke. The metal handle sawed through the straps in two places and the bag dropped to the floor as I was walking. I rarely used the handle as I normally wear the bag over my shoulder.
I only carried a laptop, air card, usb cables, a mini flashlight, a few pens and my lunch each day so I never came close to the bag's capacity.
I was fortunate the bag was near the floor and didn't drop far and damage something. The metal handle is just a bad idea.
I love the bag for its other features but will exchange it for something with a normal handle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by VagabondChangeGuy Defective Handle Design
The bag is OK, except for a major design flaw. The metal handle has edges that cut and fray the nylon cord that secures the handle to the bag. This fraying was noticed several hours into my first trip with the Traverse bag. Obviously, I do not recommend this bag until this serious design flaw is fixed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JayfromNH Great bag except for the handle
I've had this bag since August, and both of the handles are now broken. It's due to the poor design of the handle. I have ordered an exchange for a new bag, but I doubt that it will last any longer than the current one. I would not buy this bag if you plan on using it a lot, or for anything heavy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LLB4Us Great bag except for the handle
This lightweight bag is large enough for laptop, accessories and other items. It has convenient outside pouches for water bottles, and the strap is comfortable. However the handle, which I don't use much, broke after only 3 months of use. Not only is it made from uncomfortable-to-hold aluminum, but the ends are sharp, which cut through the fabric supporting it. The bag needs to be redesigned with a comfortable and durable handle.
