Rated 2 out of 5 by Snowbound15 Remote Sensor Failed
This is only a few months old and the remote sensor has stopped working. I have put in new batteries and reset both the main unit and the remote sensor. The sensor only works for about 5 minutes but then stops - doesn't matter if it is outside or right next to the main unit. Very frustrated. Will be returning.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Cloudster47 Where are the extra sensors?
This item is designed to take data from multiple sensors, but Bean does not sell them. The reason I needed a new station is that both sensors from the two previous generation stations failed, and I couldn't get any more sensors for that one. I am afraid the same will happen to this unit, too, leaving me with a perfectly good inside unit but no outside information. Right now, however, the point is moot since Bean won't have any additional units to sell until mid-May. I sense a lack of commitment and support for this product. As long as the sensor works, it is a good value, but for how long?

Only have used for a few weeks, so far so good. Like the way you can switch the location of indoor & outdoor temp by touchscreen.

This weather station is awesome, I've read the whole manual that came with mine, maybe the given few that complain on theirs not working in extreme cold should read theirs. It says that you need to use a certain type of battery for it to work in extreme temperatures. We have had a low of -36 this year and it worked through the whole time. For the few that failed to read, I'd like to also mention that the outside unit and the main unit can't be more tham 100 feet apart.

We needed to replace the first weather station we purchased from LL Bean a LONG time ago after it died. The new one is simpler but it accomplishes what we need to know: what IS the outdoor temperature? We expect it to last as long as the first one did!

My husband was replacing another weather station that was larger. This one is compact and it works great

Rated 1 out of 5 by SebagoFan Fails when cold out
When temperatures get extremely cold (single digits or below zero), the outdoor temp readout goes blank.
But part of the reason I bought this product in the first place was so I could see this outside information--it would help me figure out quickly what to wear, what to expect from the day, etc.
What good is a "weather station" that can't tell you the outside temperature? Shockingly poor quality from Bean.

I have three of these and will be returning all of them ASAP. I wish I'd read the reviews instead of the item description. If I'd known it doesn't go below -4 I would have saved myself a lot of frustration. LLBean, you need to put this in the description!!! It's ok for some parts of the country... but not OURS. The older version with the wired connection worked well below zero. -38 in fact. Having an accurate temperature reading is a necessity, not a luxury. Time to go shopping somewhere else.

Cannot get the remote sensor to work. I think this has to do with setting the "reset" hole - which does not activate. Substituted fresh batteries for the batteries included - still doesn't work.
Indoor temperature works fine - date, date, year sets all fine. However, the main reason for purchasing this item was to get the outdoor temperature. I will be returning this the LL Bean store at the first opportunity.
For the record, this is the first item purchased from LL Bean that was not completely satifactory
