Base layers and long underwear tops should be able to be tucked in and stay that way. I'm a slim 5'8" and this shirt is too short for me. The bottom sits at the belt level. Once tucked in, if you reach for something, bend over or swing your arms as in cross country skiing, it will untuck instantly. I bought it for working and playing in cold weather, but it's useless for most any activity unless you like your mid-section exposed. I'm going to return it. NOTE. I have 2 of the non-zip versions of this shirt and they are much longer and work great.

I have been purchasing from LL Bean for over 30 years. I recently got this shirt and wear it alone and as a base layer. It looks great and is warm. With the new fabrics it is warm without being bulky. If New colors were offered I might purchase another.

I bought 2 of these for alpine skiing primarily for the "tall" size sleeve length and the thumb loop holes. I have a long arms and have had a problem with getting cold air and exposed skin below my wrists between my gloves cuffs and the end of the shirt sleeve. This product remedies that problem because with the thumb loops and stretch material I no longer have any exposed skin. I love the stretch material. Excellent product!

I work in a factory that is about 58 degrees in winter on a concrete floor we sometimes have radiant heat and outside 20 degree air blowing at times to cool the plasma booth I work in . My comfort level has been great since wearing this garment for the past week. when the heat comes on I sweat and the moisture is wicked away. My productivity has increased from 4.5 Hours a day to 6.5 hours a day

Rated 5 out of 5 by Malone34 Simply the Best Midweight Baselayer!
Purchased an LL Bean 1/4 zip midweight baselayer pullover, made with Polartec Powerdry 4-way stretch fabric, and it is simply the best I have ever worn. It's an excellent combination of comfortable warmth, high performance, good looks, especially with its stylish top stitching and it feels so good against our skin and to the touch. A very versatile piece as well; can be worn indoors, outdoors for sporting and athletic events, as well as activities like hiking, golfing, climbing, skiing, hunting, fishing and such. Highly recommend this clothing. Try it, you'll like it!

I could not be more pleased with this base layer. The polartec material provides a really nice feel. The zipper makes this a top choice versus the other well known brand that I considered. This is comfortable, warm, feels good, and it is easy to put on and take off.

I have an expedition weight and a lightweight quarter zip Power Dry shirt that I really like. They are both XXL Tall. I ordered a medium weight, same size, same fabric. The sleeves are a full two inches longer; the body is four inches larger around; the shirt is longer; I will return it and get an XL Tall and hope it fits. It is difficult to have confidence in sizing when the same item can be so different. If you get the right size, the product is very good.
