Rated 3 out of 5 by JLR12 Very pretty, BUT. . .
To be clear I am reviewing the Kennebunkport Skirt, MADRAS (plaid). I found this skirt to not only run a size small in the waist but also to NOT sit lower on the waist (as stated in the description). I feel that the waist is very high on this skirt. It fits true to size in the hips and length. The madras plaid is very pretty and will look great with a variety of tops and tees. I am not thrilled with the quality for the cost though. It is not lined at all and seems fairly thin. Additionally it took weeks for this skirt to arrive as it was backordered twice.

Wore the seersucker skirt for the first time yesterday. It is cute & comfortable. The skirt sits low on hips - I think some of the reviewers who complained that is too big expected the skirt to fit their waists.
I bought my usual size 4 and it fit just fine (5'3"/120 lbs).
The only suggestion I have is to add a kick pleat in back. Had to pull up my skirt to get into a friend's SUV!

I wish this skirt came in a "tall" option. I'm usually a size 12/14 around the waist, so I ordered a 16 in hopes of it being able to fit lower by the hips to make it appear longer at the knees. (I'm 5'6"). I guess by doing that it helped, (the skirt fell at the knees-not above)but the size 16 felt like a 14. I found they ran true to size to actually on the small side. I wore it to church and was always tugging it down whenever I would sit-besides that, it's very cute and I feel so very summery and "Maine-ish" in the cornflower striped skirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Keltoncat great skirt
This is my first skirt. I usually wear slacks, but today, Mother's Day, I wore this skirt with a navy top, and received so many compliments. I purchased the size 16 regular. It was a little large, but I do not like tight fitting clothes, so, the skirt sat below the regular waist, and was so comfortable. It did not wrinkle, and I wore it all day into the night. Love it, love it.

I received this skirt today, and had been so looking forward to it. Unfortunately, though, it has to go back. Too short. When I had measured 22 inches with measuring tape, it seemed like the skirt would fall to the bottom of my knee or lower; in reality, though, the skirt came well above my knee. That might be OK until I sat down, and then it's up way too far. What a shame. The skirt is cut well, and allows for the hips that average women have. It's a perfect fit around the waist. And the material is super cute: would have been great with tee shirts or polo shirts and white sneakers. But it needs another 2 or 3 inches to be modest and appropriate.

Rated 3 out of 5 by mompharmd Runs very big
I bought the blue oxford skirt. Such a cute idea, but the skirt runs very big. I'm 5'8" 125 lbs. and usually wear a 6 in LLBean clothes (have had to get an 8 in some of the pants), but even the 4 in this skirt was too large. There is a lot of bulky fabric around the hips that is very unflattering! Really wish the skirt fit right...such a cute fabric. Would have been great for summer. Really disappointed. I wish Bean would standardize their sizing.

I love this skirt; so much that I'm ordering the shorts. I wish you had it in a blue madras pattern because I would snatch it up. I almost ordered another one so I'd have a back up. Sounds crazy, I know, but I continue to grab it and wear with all my LLB polos and t's. So comfy yet it looks smart and crisp. Wore it on a road trip and it looked as good when I arrived as when we left 5 hours earlier.
When I first put it on I thought it ran tight, but once I sat a few times it became perfect. So when you get it, don't panic ... it was true to size.
I'm 5'6" and don't find it too short at all.

I bought this skirt in the blue seersucker and the matching jacket too.I love the look, but I'm feeling so sad that I have to return them because the skirt is just too big in the waist. I bought the size 4 and L.L. Bean does not carry the skirt in a smaller size. I took it for alterations and was told with the structure of the skirt it could not be taken in enough. I will admit I am not a size 2 and these skirts are seriously sized wrong. When you order definitely size down.

Very cute, but skimpy, especially when sitting. I am a teacher, and this needs to be longer. I am 5'7". Please make this in a tall.

I purchased this skirt in 3 colors -- azurite seersucker, solid china blue & the preppy madras (every year I look at madras skirts & think they're too trendy -- BUT here it is again and this year I finally snatched one up. This skirt is nothing fancy -- and that's good. It'll be a GREAT, easy to wear, easy to care for basic - a piece that I'll reach for over and over. And once the temperatures rise, these skirts will be great for work, casual wear and dinners both at home and at the club paired with some cute strappy sandals and fun jewelry.
