Rated 5 out of 5 by victoriasponge soft and warm
I bought the grey. I love love love this jacket. True to size, i bought a large to give me just a little extra for layers, i usually wear a med/large. love the drawstring waist, the longer length and the hood.
i have worn one of my other Bean fleeces under a rain jacket and that works really well for warmth and dryness.
A real winner, oh and washes well too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HermitLady The best one yet!
I have had a few other polartec jackets and parkas, but just have to say this is the best by far. It's probably the love-at-first-sight Cayenne color. But it feels as if this parka is a bit softer and thicker, therefore warmer, than any others I've had. They say it's their "classic" and true, it's nothing new in style or cut, but how can you improve upon perfection? I ADORE this parka! It's just enough longer than a jacket to keep one's lower quarters nice and cozy.
It works well with classic style clothes, even dresses, but also more outdoorsy things. With the color selection, well, buy more than one if you can, but even with one in "your color" it will take you through a long season of all sorts of activities. Can you tell I love it? Picky me. You need one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by onallerazil0887 Great Jacket, Not so great color
I love this jacket. It is warm and the quality I've come to expect from LL Bean. However, there is a huge issue with the color for me. I ordered the orangeish color because it looked like a little bit of a pale tangerine color. I recieved the jacket, it is hunter's orange, like the color of hunting gear. Wasn't expecting that! Over all great jacket though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MNshopper1 Finally found it!
I have been looking for years for a fleece jacket that was longer and this is it. I have several fleece coats but they hit at the waist and when I wore a longer sweater to work they hung below the jacket and looked messy. Pockets inside and outside, drawstring waist and it covers your bottom - perfect. I would suggest to L. L. Bean to add a drawstring in the hood for those really windy days but for right now I will wrap a big cowl around my neck and keep it in place that way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ADaley Beautiful color
I just received this yesterday, so I don't know if it's warm yet or not, but the color is beautiful. Its purple..nice and deep. But my complaint is this, as it is with all LL Bean women's coats..if you are purchasing an item in size 3x, it's safe to say that you are not thin. Why is it the sleeves seem very fitted, and the bottom of coats aren't wider? Most "normal" women have hips, they are not straight boxes. This is the reason I purchased this jacket, I figured with fleece, I may be safe because it stretches a bit. I was right, but barely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by xyzrider Very small
I ordered larger than I would normally wear to be able to layer clothes underneath. Even a 2X was "tiny". There is no way to wear layers under this jacket. And certainly no woman wearing a 2X would even fit in this jacket. Very disappointed in LL Bean's sizing. Several garments that I have ordered have gone back to them recently because is "shrinking" cut of the material used. If LL Bean wants to keep their customers and actually sell items they need to address why the sizing is so far off from what it used to be. I have jackets from 20 years ago from them and they were generously cut. I guess I will still be wearing those until they make the new ones decently sized. SERIOUSLY LLBEAN, LOOK AT WHAT YOU MAKE- TRY IT ON REAL PEOPLE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Casper123 Warmest and most comfortable coat
I bought two for me. Though I wear a 2x in tee shirts at LLBean,
I wore a 1x in this coat. It is warm and lightweight. I bought one
for my niece also. You will love this coat with the adjustable
inside waist also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dawson56 Love this jacket
This jacket is lightweight but very warm and the fabric is beautifully soft. It works well as a layer under a rain jacket or wind breaker. The petite is well-proportioned to fit 5' 2". The sleeves are too long for me, but all sleeves are too long for me. The only change I would suggest is a drawstring for the hood.
I'm very pleased with this jacket and plan to buy one in another colour.

Definitely buy one size larger if you want to wear layers. The sleeves are tight, but the length is great for rear view coverage...and warmth. Trail Model fleece is the only truly warm fleece.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NewEnglandmomof2kids Annoying draw string
FABRIC: A+: I am very particular about fleece fabric. I don't like it shiny and staticky. This fleece is fabulous - it's soft and not too dense - yet not too thin or flimsy. I'm pleased. The more you wash it (and dry it in a dryer with a dryer sheet like Bounce) the better it gets. But I like fleece that has texture.
CUT: B: I am 5'1" and 169lbs. I bought size Large (regular). It is a perfect length that covers my (flat) derriere just barely. But the jacket loses a star for the draw string which does not hit at waist, but 2 inches higher. Also, the draw string is pulled trough a sewn black ribbon which feels uncomfortable on my back. Another thing I dislike is the black zipper on the gray jacket. When worn unzipped, the zipper "flips" and makes the jacket appear cheap. I do love the zippered pockets (although they are again lined in black fabric, so if you wear your gray jacket unzipped the black pockets show.) I assume this is the case with other jacket colors. I assume that it's just cheaper to make just one color (black) pockets and zippers on any colored jacket than to change the zippers and pockets for each color, but it really makes the jacket lose esthetic appeal. I like that the pockets don't have elastic so they can be folded (they are too long on me).
VERDICT: 4 Stars for uncomfortable draw string, black pockets and lack of reasonable color choices: Overall I'm happy with my purchase - it is "good enough" buy, but the lack of "conservative" colors (navy, dark brown, khaki) will be the reason I won't be getting any more of them. I can't imagine wearing pink or purple jacket. I mostly got this jacket to keep in the car, or to wear to kids' softball/soccer games. I've traveled to NH for a quick get away and used it as a blanket over the sleeping kid.
