Rated 5 out of 5 by ShoesintheCity Great running jacket
I received this jacket the day before a 15k with a forecast for rain ALL day... (Happy Halloween) It was blustery and cold and very wet. Although the jacket isn't completely waterproof, it still repelled the rain and kept me warm. It isn't stifling like some rain jackets can be, even with a hood that fits snugly around the face (still leaving comfortable room for my hat). It's super light weight and perfect for layering over a tech-tee. I typically need a medium in Bean active wear - it's true to size, loose but not too baggy or shapeless. The happy bright color (coral red) is perfect to brighten a drab day. Now that I have this one I have my eye on the reflective gray one. This will also be an ideal jacket to pack down & bring along on dog walks. Thanks Bean for outfitting me on rainy days so I can go play outside!

Rated 4 out of 5 by RidesLikeAGirl It's not ruby coral, it's pink.
On my computer monitor this item looks just short of red in the ruby coral color. It's not. It's pink. A really bright pink. Probably has great visibility, if you want pink. Aside from the color it runs a little big because LLBean has started vanity sizing. I used to always be an XS, but now even though I'm the same size I need an XXS. According to the size chart I'm an XS. Please make the clothes fit according to the size chart.
The jacket is thin enough that the words on a t-shirt can be read though it. Can't speak to how well it works or not because I ordered and XS thinking it would fit and it's big (I'm 5'4", 108#, 32C). With a fleece under it it is still be a little big. The XXS is sold out or I would reorder in yellow.

Seriously, this is the best, wind jacket, EVER. It does everything that the description says it does.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ehb123 Great windbreaker for cool morning runs
I got this for those mornings in the 50s with breezes when it's too chilly for a t shirt but not enough for a shell. This jacket works great. It keeps me comfortable and wicks away moisture during my run. I wish the cuffs were velcro so I could shut out those breezes at the start of my run. All in all, great buy.

I really, really loved this jacket. It was light and folded into a small ball that I could shove into any nook and cranny. I took it to work every day this summer because my commuter train, subway and bus were all freezing cold due to AC. This jacket helped cut the cold significantly (not completely, though). Unfortunately, six weeks into wearing the jacket, a hole developed in the fabric without any actual puncturing. I was very disappointed and returned the jacket to the store hoping that I could get a replacement. Unfortunately, they were out of my color/size so now I'm jacket-less. Hope it comes back in stock soon.

Fantastic product. My wife loves it. We do not know how it works - some kind of magic; extremely light weight, but keeps you comfortable. It is paper-thin.

I needed an ultralight windbreaker for a coming trip... this is perfect. Fits perfectly and will be great for cooler evenings on the beach. Well made, perfect color for me. Pockets are deep enough for a few items, like phone and ID, and zip securely. I couldn't be happier!

Rated 2 out of 5 by PickiePickie Ultralight, yes. Windbreaker, no.
I can't agree with those who thought it was a windbreaker to any extent. I wore it outside on a chilly Florida morning and might as well not have had it on. It's cute & fits well, but I need something that gives at least a little wind protection. It's going back.

Excellent light weight and tough shell. Love the very hard to find hood in a jacket of they type. I wear this over a LL fitness fleece when I mountain bike 30-40 degrees. Once it goes below 30 I add a LL river driver shirt as a base layer and I am good into the low teens which is about as cold as it gets here normally. The hood fits nice under my helmet as well and easy to remove during my ride if I get too warm. If they added some vents the jacket would be perfect.
