Rated 4 out of 5áby dandksmommyinClovis Very soft and roomy for a teenager, but...
if you are over 5'7" you should probably purchase the XL bag. I bought the teal color for my daughter who is 5'5 and this bag is just right for her. I slept in it and thank goodness I waited to order my bag. It is not long enough for my legs so I ordered up. I read the other reviews and when her bag arrived it did not smell at all. Right out of the box it smelled just fine. I love the easy straps/clips that make is quick and easy for kids to roll-up their bag. I do, however, agree with the other reviewers about the zipper. It is very loose. Not that it is cheap or defective, but it is very loose and if your not careful and you toss and turn a lot the zipper is able to slide down very easily. The bag at first did not seem very warm, but the type of fill used needs your body heat to create heat which then made for a very warm bag. The flannel lining is very soft and comfortable. All in all I really like this bag and ordered myself the XL size.

Warm, soft, and washes well. I can't seem to stop bringing this sleeping bag to my sofa to curl up with instead of a blanket. The first use these bags got (I bought two) was in Maine with several feet of snow on the ground...I'm estimating it was about 25-30║F outside. I stayed plenty warm, but was also in a drafty camp with a wood stove. I'm not sure how warm I would have stayed without the wood stove (it kept the room at 50║F) since I like being rather toasty and I was "just right". I would recommend sizing up for adults. I fit in one (I'm 5'7") but if you want a little more room than a mummy bag, get the extra-large. If your power ever goes out and you don't have heat, make sure you have this bag. You might not ever want to get out of it because it's so soft. Unzips all the way to be used as a comforter; could be used in an RV, van-camper, campground, etc. Not for backpacking due to size/weight.

I couldn't wait to get the sleeping bags. I have 10 grandchildren and 6 to 8 of them stay every Saturday night. I need sleeping bags to help with sleeping arrangements. They are roomy, warm, and made to withstand the many uses that they will be used. My daughter bought 2 and my two grandkids bring them when they stay. That's how i knew about these nice roomy and warm sleeping bags. The kids always wanted to sleep in them so I wanted 2 of my own. Thank you LL Bean for selling a great product that will be used over and over again.

Rated 5 out of 5áby SUMMITMOMOF3 Love our LL Bean Sleeping Bag!
This is now the 3rd LL Bean Sleeping Bag that our family has purchased (now for our 3rd child- she is 7 years old).. and I must say that it's perfect! Thick but not too thick, and soft flannel lining.. and love that it rolls up well and stores in a personalized bag! My 12 year old brought hers to overnight summer camp and she felt great and slept well at night (in a cabin that was not air conditioned). We could not be happier with our purchase! Thank you LL Bean!

My husband has taken over this sleeping bag. The flannel is soft and warm and it's the perfect temperature sleeping bag, even indoors. Haven't washed it yet, however. We have no problem paying a little more from LL Bean knowing the quality, and if we have any issues we can return. Great products and customer service keep us coming back.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Sweet5k Great Warm Car Camping Bag
I often buy camping and backpacking gear at LL Bean and I am consistently amazed by the great quality. Shopping for new bags I knew that I wanted to go for a degree rating that would keep us toasty warm on shoulder-season car camping trips. These bags do not disappoint.
We tested them out on a trip to a PA state park in late October. The temperatures dipped down into the high 20s and we stayed very warm wearing wool base layers and wool socks to bed. The last night it rained hard all night and our tent (which is admittedly a cheap yard sale buy) did leak a fair bit, but our bags kept us dry. I paired this with the pathfinder short sleeping pad and even though my feet were off the pad, I stayed warm; which I suspect is the benefit of synthetic insulation that doesn't compress as much as down would. I like that there is a feature that allows 2 bags to be zippered together, however we didn't use it this time as we felt a closer fit on each of us would keep us warmer.
I am 5'0" and I felt that this bag was perfectly sized for me. I could keep my next days clothes in the bottom of the bag and still pull it over my head for extra warmth. If you're taller than 5'6", you probably want the extra long. I had originally been upset that LL Bean didn't offer a child-size bag with a 20 degree rating because I would like to do more family camping in the future. However, after using these I don't think that the adult regular size bag would be too big for children 7-8 and up.
These are bulky. We travel to family for the holidays by train and while I will bring these bags with us as I think their comfort is far better than our backpacking bags for sleeping on the floor, I dread finding a way to pack them for train travel.
I wish the included storage bag were a bit smaller. We don't use the storage bags for trips because there is significant extra room if you use the compression straps to tighten up the bag.
Bottom line: If you are looking for car-camping bags that prioritize comfort over packability, you can't go wrong with these.

Rated 3 out of 5áby onewheel Buy the XL!
I bought this sleeping bag as a gift for my husband. We had purchased LLBean bags long ago and were replacing his. He really likes the flannel lining. We were going on a trip soon after and he didn't try out the sleeping bag before our trip. Imagine our surprise when he rolled it out and it only came up to his chest! So, I figured maybe I ordered the wrong one or they had sent the kid-sized bag by accident. I called LLBean customer service (they are AWESOME!) and they very nicely dispatched another regular sized bag. When it arrived, I compared the two. It was the same size! We measured and the bag they sent was barely the size indicated on the website when two people pulled hard to stretch it taut, but still not tall enough for a man to sleep in comfortably. I ended up getting the XL bag instead. It was an investment, and sadly NOT made in the US. I would recommend sizing up.

Even though the zipper on this bag ripped after a year of use, my 12 year old son loves this wide bag so much for camp that he has requested we return it and replace with the same bag. It is roomy and soft, he loves it so much that he uses it year round. Makes keeping his bed made an easy chore. Perhaps this bag is not meant to be used year round.
Luckily LL Bean guarantees everything so we are willing to give it another shot. We will return and try again...

Rated 3 out of 5áby MIbiker Comfy but smelled a bit funky
I got the sleeping back very quickly and opened the box which has all the markings from asian on it. Once i opened the box it smelled a bit funky. it smelled of chemicals or something like that. I threw it in the wash right away. Then after reading the instructions i found that i also have to keep the bag unstuffed to prevent it all from settling in the bag. its a little annoying for storage.

Rated 4 out of 5áby kennebec74 Warm and cozy!!!
Bought these for a late winter camping trip in Maine this past week. The temps got down to the 20's and I was VERY warm and toasty. I'm 5'7", 200 lbs and they seemed fine in size. We had them zipped together to fit two people, and had no issues fitting the two of us. I used one bag the week prior alone and was exceptionally snuggly. Very good fabric...soft and cozy...everything I expected.
The zippers seem a bit weak and we had a hard time getting them together. They also bit into the fabric often so we had to back them up and try again. Might benefit from a larger tooth or better quality zipper.
