Rated 2 out of 5 by LoriSH Quality has SLIPPED
Jacket fabric is soft but not warm for a cold climate. The quality I've come to expect (from YEARS of buying their polartec jackets) has slipped. A seam has unraveled (after only 2 months), finishing not done (threads NOT clipped), odd stiff placket at zipper makes fit weird. Fit is NOT flattering at all. I cannot recommend this jacket to friends. I will not be buying anything else from LL Bean - they've changed how & where their garments are made - quality I've come to expect IS not there anymore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by travellllller Not warm- but is great for indoors
This coat is not warm at all. There isn't one thing about this coat that is warm. The wind blows right through the fabric-especially through the arms. However, with that being said.... I love this coat. I wanted something that was fluffy and soft that I could wear inside when the house was cold or to have on when I run out to the car or mailbox. I have attempted to wear this outside on days when it was in the upper 50's/lower 60's and the cold and wind were not stopped by the fabric at all. The zippers on the pockets are extremely stiff so I have gotten my open stiff pockets caught on door handles and edges of furniture numerous times- which is very annoying. My daughter keeps trying to take this coat from me because it is soo soft and fluffy. She did attempt to wear it outside one day and soon realized that it is not warm AT all so she now only tries to take it if she is going to be inside somewhere and needs a little extra warmth. If you are looking for a warm coat this is not it. However, if you are looking for something to wear indoors at a store while shopping, or while in your home- then this is the coat for you. It is boxy in the design and the stomach area does have a large amount of material- so if you carry weight in your stomach this might fit you without going up a size. I bought a Large- and was fearful it would be too tight or small- but it was okay. In regular clothes I wear a 14/16 and the large fit fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by wouldwrk Dog hair compatible
Unlike other fleece, which holds on to dog hair forever, if you give this one a good shake, most of the dog hair comes off.
It's also super-soft and has other great features that the other reviewers have mentioned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BackpacksWithBooks Warm, packable, but poor fit
I love this material! This jacket is warmer than my fleece-lined hoodie, even though it's a lot lighter. I can actually see light through it when I hold it up, and it does pack small, which is what I wanted it for. Don't be misled by how thin it is! This really is a technical, super-warm fabric. (It's the fabric called "monkey fur" in the backpacking world.)
The fit of this jacket doesn't work for me. I could say the exact same thing as another reviewer: "I ordered this in [the size] which usually fits me. However, on this jacket, the princess seams seem to be off. When zipped, there is an unflattering puckering about 2 inches below my normal bustline."
It's also too tight at my hips, yanking my trousers around as I move.
The arms are long, but from the picture, I expected that, and I like it--it's good for keeping your hands warm.
I love this fabric so much I'm going to try the jacket in a larger size, but in petite. Hope that size won't squeeze my hips so much!

Rated 2 out of 5 by BruinFan Problems with fit
I ordered this in a Petite Small which usually fits me. However, on this jacket, the princess seams seem to be off. When zipped, there is an unflattering puckering about 2 inches below my normal bustline. It's not so noticeable when unzipped, but when it's cold, I usually zip my jackets. The left side of the collar also seems to be a problem - it will not lay flat and sticks up and tickles my nose. I've not yet figured out why that is - maybe the zipper is too heavy for the lightweight fabric? It IS a very lightweight fabric like others have said, and I'm curious to know how warm it really is, but sadly, it's going to be returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GrabItRabbit Nice Lightweight Jacket
Like always....I read the reviews and ordered accordingly. Took the advice and ordered a size smaller size than I normally wear which fit perfect. The pile on the fleece is "crushed" due to packaging. Fired up my garment steamer and ruffled up the pile and let it dry. Beautiful! Very lightweight, warm and attractive jacket. I'll wear this coat a lot. Purchased the collegiate blue which is gorgeous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WinstonsMom Great addition to your wardrobe
I ordered the darkest violet in small. It's the warmest, cozy jacket that I don't know why I didn't pick it up earlier. I get so many compliments on the color and how soft it is. It's is great for layering over t-shirt, thermals or underneath a heavier jacket. I'm in love with this! Great product, style and colors please LLBean don't change or discontinue this jacket, you've got a good thing going here

Rated 4 out of 5 by MomWhoTentCamps Super soft and warm. Nice fit.
I bought this to wear under my ski coat but it has also become my go-to favorite when I come home from work and am chilly... It's so soft and snuggly! What I like about it for skiing is that the collar zips to my chin, with the soft fleece all the way up on the inside up against my neck and the zipper has a fleece cover over it so the zipper does not rub against my chin, perfect not to have to use a neck gator when skiing. I am not quite 5'4" and 130 and the XS petite fits great... Not tight at all, and arms and length roomy and good. A bit pricey for me but I do love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by MountainLor warm, soft, but not fitted enough and runs big
I had to write a review to balance out the reviewers who deemed this "too fitted, "too thin/not warm" and "poor quality." My impressions are the opposite. First of all, it's remarkably warm and soft and has nice details of a quality jacket (the seams are flat, zippers easy to work, thoughtful trim details like the zipper cover for your chin and piping at cuffs keep out cold). However, I am large chested and usually wear an L in other brands, yet the M is too large/boxy on me and as such, not flattering at all to my mid-section. I'd like it to be more fitted. On the upside, I can see this fitting over my waist through a pregnancy! :) If you want a slimming look, this is not it. If you don't mind looking fatter , go for it.
