I was looking forward to receiving these boots to be outside in the brutal winter we've been having. Unfortunately.....they are very uncomfortable and stiff....sole and especially around calf was really unbearable to walk in. Back they went.....received my return confirmation already. Thanks LLBean....looking forward to next time.

Rated 5 out of 5áby photoonthego BEST BOOT EVER
I bought a pair of these boots in the periwinkle a year ago because they were on a winter clearance. They were comfortable right out of the box! I usually were an 81/2 women's shoe but ordered a size 9 knowing I would be wearing heavy winter socks. The 9 fit just right. They are by far the warmest, most comfortable winter boots I have ever owned. I bought a second pair this winter in black because I wanted to try them as a winter hiking boot. They are absolutely perfect. I wear them on rough wooded trails with snow and ice for 4-5 hours at a time. One pair of hiking socks and 1 pack of foot warmers in the boots and my feet stay warm the duration of the hike. I have hiked in weather as low as 20 degrees and plan to go even colder. Even though they are advertised as a snow boot, they also make a perfect winter hiking boot.

Rated 4 out of 5áby LLinY Nice boot, order a size up
Love the look and workmanship, but the boot runs a full size smaller than listed. I have size 8 in several boots from Beans that fit perfectly. This boot in a size 8 was way too small in both length and width. Unfortunately, Bean's is sold out of the 9. Tried the lace up version also and it was too small.

Rated 5 out of 5áby MoDynaMo Warm dry comfy but stiff in the ankles.
Received as Xmas gift. Love them once I got used to them. Pros and cons from my perspective: oh you may want to order half size up if you wear thick socks.
Beautifully warm, 100%waterproof, kept my toes toasty in below freezing weather. Soft padding liner, comfortable to walk in for miles, very non slip. Vanity, but make my feet look small.
Stiff in ankles, had trouble getting them on at first and they feel odd like a ski boot when you first walk. (Got easier after first time I wore them). You must wear full length socks. I had blisters on my calf where top was when I wore short socks. I have a very fat lower leg, so cannot wear pants inside boot and there not a lot of room on the Velcro straps.

Rated 5 out of 5áby lookingforagooddeal great boots
Many people have complained that this boot is too narrow and stiff. I find that these boots are narrower in the arch but not in the toes. The net effect is a well supported foot. Fit is clearly dependent on foot size and shape. I usually wear a 7, sometimes 7 1/2 but got an 8. They fit perfect with and without thick socks. The narrower fit is also far more attractive than most. At first the boots were stiff and chafed my calfs. Since breaking in these boots, and by loosening the top strap, I have no discomfort at all, even walking for over an hour. Everyone seems to agree these boots are warm and dry.

I red the reviews before ordering these boots, & ordered them, would I recommend them not sure, they are stiff& the Velcro on the top is too short, for me, & because I have trouble bending ,at times it hard for me to "buckle" them. They seam to be made for women with small legs! Bought these boots hoping to replace 2pr. 1pr.keep my feet warm but not dry the other dry but not warm. I think they will do ! Just haven't been able to wear them to drive!!

Rated 5 out of 5áby MyDogLovesLLBean Awesome Winter Boot
I just received these boots last week - just in time for the weekend storm!! These were absolutely everything I needed - warm, perfect sizing, and waterproof! I spent the morning hours outside in them, playing in the snow (and rain) with my dog. My feet stayed warm and dry as I trecked through piles of snow and puddles of rain. I'm usually a size 8.5 and ordered these in a 9 since they are only in whole sizes - glad I did! I can wear these with or without socks and they fit great both ways!
Just another awesome LL Bean product!

áby MER2777 What happened to the real wildcats?
I have an older pair of Wildcats that I love. They are so warm that I am able to wear them snowmobiling and ice fishing instead of clunky boots with liners in them. I live in a cold climate and wear them just about everyday for outdoor activities including snow shoeing. They have enough width to be comfortable with a heavy sock. They are getting worn so I decided to buy a new pair this year. These new boots should not even be called Wild Cats. They are a totally different boot. My old Wild Cats are a women's size 7, new ones that I am returning are Womens size 8 and too narrow. I measured the bottom of the sole. Old size 7s are 4 and 3/4 inches W and 12 inches L. New size 8 bottom is 4 and 1/4 inches W and 11 inches L. I have never been so disappointed in an LLBean product.

Rated 5 out of 5áby plk21 Excellent for snowshoeing
Recommended by LL Bean sales person at the store as being the best choice for snowshoeing, and they were right! The boots are easy on/easy off, have a 'lip' on the back to keep the snowshoe bindings in place, and have kept my feet both warm and dry. I have worn them with a light liner sock topped with a heavy weight wool sock and my feet have been very comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5áby PaulaWL They are warm, but they hurt your ankles!
I've been outside in bitterly cold weather with these and my feet stay warm even at temps well below zero. However, the outsides of both ankles ended up bruised after a day of snowshoeing. The boots also eat socks, so I have to roll my sock tops over the tops of the boot to prevent that problem.
