Rated 5 out of 5 by CaroleNJ Just What I Was Looking For!
I've been looking for a pair of plain black flats to wear with leggings. Finally I found these. They are quite comfortable and I have had absolutely NO problem with the heel of the shoe causing discomfort. I don't think I would wear them to walk great distances, but for normal wear they are great! Would definitely recommend.

I really wanted these shoes to work for me. They are well made and would look nice with dressier outfits. Unfortunately, the 9 (my usual size) was too big and the 8.5 was too small. Even though they didn't fit my feet, I would recommend the shoes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Highschoolteach Distorted shape
These shoes seemed exactly what I needed. I purchased them before a trip, for something a little dressier, easy to slip on, easy to pack. After some wear, one of the shoes became distorted/twisted. The front of the opening (near the toe end) became increasingly diagonal rather than straight across the foot. I thought the problem might have something to do with how I was walking, but I compared the sole to similar styled shoes I have (also leather, also little structure and support) and found these to be significantly more curved. My foot probably caused part of the problem, but it was not helped by the shape of the base of the shoe, and none of my other pairs of "ballet flat" styled shoes of similar price and quality have done this, even after significant wear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Agirlneedsaname Stylish shoes, but not great for walking around
I got these shoes to wear around my work this summer as I need to wear closed shoes. They are comfortable enough for office use, but not great for walking around in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by shorewoman Comfortable, good fit and attractive
After reading the reviews for this shoe, I was hesitant to purchase. I chose the green because I thought it was really pretty (it is!) and to my surprise, I love them! They fit well and I made it all the way through my first day of work with very comfortable feet. Got lots of complements too! I like the elastic at the back-holds the shoe in place well. They could have a little more padding, but what's there is okay for an average work day.

I originally purchased this particular style & color (metallic) for a little dressier look with my summer attire. Never expecting the comfort and versatility of these shoes, I am pleasantly surprised and will be purchasing additional colors in the LL Bean skimmer collection. These shoes are extremely comfortable, versatile, and durable. I purchased size 7 M (my normal size) and wear them with skinnies, rolled-up jeans, shorts, and skirts.

Purchased these in March and they are very cute, however, they are a killer to my ankles. The leather is not soft and pliable but very stiff. Have been trying to break them in but it is just not happening! These will have to go back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by nightgale My personal opinion
I was ready to like these in the soft sable color, and the fit seemed fine, but on my feet they seemed a bit dorky looking. The squared shape from the sides to the top of the shoe, and strange toe box, might be the cause.
On a young person, this would not matter, but I'm over 50 and my flats must look cute, otherwise they look frumpy. Perhaps in the black options this odd-shape aspect would not be as apparent.
This is just a personal impression, maybe others think they look adorable. The leather seemed good quality.

I bought two pairs of these shoes and I love them! The fit is perfect (size 8) and I wear them all day with no problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mconar Couldn't break in, not enough support
One of my friends enthusiastically recommended these to me as all purpose, easy and classic black flats. She did warn me that they were tough to break-in, adding that they were worth the initial blisters once they were a bit worn.
That being said, my girl has flat feet, and my arches couldn't be higher. Not even taking into account how much they rubbed the back of my foot, these just don't offer enough support for me.
My quest for the perfect black flats continues!
