I purchased the Women's Indispensable Skimmers, Flat Camo as a gift for an avid traveler. I sent the online pic to her to make sure it was a style and design she would like. The picture online shows the base color as tan/light brown. They looked beautiful so I sent them to her. When they arrived, she took a picture and sent it to me. The base color is actually an olive green hue. Since she was leaving for an overseas trip in a few days, she had hoped to wear them in the airport. Needless to say we both were disappointed. There was no time for her to exchange for something she liked so she didn't get a gift from me. LL Bean is usually very good at showing an item true to color. I don't know what happened this time. Truly saddened.

If they named them leopard-camo they would have sold out by now.
Such amazing color in person (dark driftwood camo)! True, as someone before mentioned, the elastic at the heel is tight and hurts, but have faith, after few days of wear it will loosen up and mold to fit above the heel. Glad I gave them a try although almost haven't because of the elastic warning.. also, I didn't like how dark they looked on the monitor and the description said they are "camo". In fact they are animal print in camo colors and this combination is amazing! Grab! Sale price!

These shoes don't just look cute, they are also comfortable and durable. I bought the silver and they are incredibly comfortable and fit perfectly. The elastic at the back keeps you from getting blisters on your heels. Also, they are durable. I've bought metallic shoes before and often found they scuff and look shabby quickly. Not true with these at all.

I bought the metallic pewter and love them. As reported in other reviews they are a bit large, so I ordered 1/2 size down. They fit well and don't slip off my heel. They were a little snug the first few times I wore them, but after maybe 5 days they conformed to my foot and are now very comfortable. They go with everything and have become my go-to shoe for the spring/summer. They give a very classic look. I'd order another pair in a heartbeat.

This is a cute looking shoe so I ordered the Pewter. My usual size is a 7 but this particular shoe ran big so I ordered a 6.5. Upon receipt I found that the insole in one of the shoes was completely unglued. The elastic was stiff & scratchy and they were tight around the toes. Sadly, these were returned.

These ballet flats are super comfortable, wear wonderfully and can handle the miles!

Rated 2 out of 5 by alisaohhh Comfortable but NOT built to last
I ordered a pair of these in 9/2013, according to my receipts. I walk a lot in the city, to and from work. These shoes, while comfortable, did not last. The sole wears down quickly, separates from the shoe, then just basically disintegrates. It started off with the glue just not adhering that great on the ends (common), but then it progressed to basically the insole coming out of the shoe every time I took them off. Then the ends get chewed up, then the rest of the shoe. I was really expecting a shoe that lasts from LL Bean, and am very disappointed in seeing how much it has worn just from everyday use. For that kind of wear and tear, I would have invested in a nicer pair of shoes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by decodilly just didn't work out
I was really looking forward to these shoes being just what I was looking for, and I am so disappointed. The inner edge of the front of the shoes digs into the top of my feet so painfully that they are unwearable. I have totally normal feet, and this never happened before with any other shoes. Oh, I suppose one could say they have to be 'broken in," but that takes time and I couldn't stand them on my feet after only an hour. It's really too bad because it is very hard to find plain black flats.

I keep trying to get these shoes to fit but my big toe kills me when I wear these. I am an 11 and the right shoe kills my feet. If the toe box were roomier I would love them. I can't get a bigger size since 11 is the largest. I guess if you have smaller feet they are ok.

Rated 3 out of 5 by shopgirl00 Dull Pewter Color; Runs Small
I ordered these in pewter but the color was dull -- I was hoping for something more metallic. It was just as well, because they run small and LL Bean was out of the next size up anyway. So, it was a simple return. I do wish they'd bring out the Skimmer in more colors though, and in some true metallics because the pairs I own are the perfect flat!
