As an older woman with hammer toes and wide feet, I have trouble finding shoes which are comfortable enough to wear all day for a few days in a row. These are amazing: great support, good for outdoor work, light hiking and casual wear; and they don't rub or hurt my feet. I don't find them heavy. Usually, I need to put an orthotic innersole (Superfeet green, also from LLB) in such shoes--not these--the original innersole is well-shaped and comfortable. I wear a men's 7 Medium (D), the rough equivalent of my women's 8.5 Wide (D), but they are much more comfortable than the women's wides which I've worn. I did have an eyelet replaced for $6 at a local cobbler's. The medium gray is a nice color. I would also wear the brown, but they're not available in my size right now. Wish these were made in women's, as 8.5 W is not an unusual size.

I just purchased a pair of coffee bean brown 10.5 medium (D). I also replaced the liner with my custom orthotic inserts but these only nominally change fit over arch and at heel. I'm finding the fit 'over the toes' to be more than ample. I have so much room for my toes that it feels like I cut away the upper from in front of the laces to the toe of the shoe. This does not have anything to do with the size of the rubber sole, either in width or length; it is the amount of upper material running up and over toes from side to side of sole at about the ball of the foot position. I am keeping these but some folks will find this medium (D) 'too wide at the toe'.

This is my second pair of these shoes. I love the comfort, and they're great for golf, if a little heavy. But, the eyelets are trash. I've had to return both pair because of eyelets that pulled apart.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SHOELESSMAN BUILT FOR WIDE FEET!
This is a comfortable shoe that appears to be well-made and worth the money; however, BE AWARE that it is EXTREMELY WIDE. I wear size 10.5 D, but this shoe is considerably wider than a normal D width. You should plan to wear thick socks with this shoe unless you usually need an E width, then the fit will probably be quite comfortable. The design from a fashion standpoint is such that it makes you appear a bit "clubfooted", with the wide, squared-off toe and all, but if you are into "earth" shoes or need an extra wide toe area, this could be the answer to your prayers. After wearing them almost everyday for two weeks now, pulling the laces up very tightly, I'm satisfied they will serve my needs for casual wear.

I bought these shoes for my hubby, he loves them and said they are very comfortable. Unfortunately the workmanship of these shoes are not great. The thread are coming off and there are cracks at the rubber sides, just within 2 weeks of purchase. Since my llbean has great return policy, i would go ahead and exchange them for another pair.

These are a very comfortable pair of shoes. The one and only thing I don't like is that the laces are too long.

I have relatively wide feet and finding any shoes in my size is often a challenge. Overall, L.L. Bean is more likely to carry shoes in my size and width than other similar stores. The Freeport store is well stocked in that regard and the staff are exceptionally patient and helpful.
The Rocky Coast Casuals are a very well made comfortable alternative to other ?sport? shoes. The fit is great and the overall look is excellent. They provide good support for my congenitally flat feet without the pain I get from some athletic shoes.
I bought them in the gray color, as it goes with most anything I wear. The price was very good. If past experience is any guide, I?ll be back for another pair in a few years when I?ve worn these out.
