Rated 5 out of 5 by mboyte A staple with excellent quality
When the wardrobe starts to look a little threadbare, I start trying to figure out how to spruce it up with the least exposure to malls and other stores. L.L. Bean makes great staples of men's clothing and these chinos are just that. Practical and comfortable.

The color was closer to white than khaki. Even thought the inseam was correct, because of the cut of the pants the legs were about an inch too long.

These pants fit well, but they also have a permanent crease in them now. I prefer a more casual look without a crease, but if you want a dressier look these may be good for you. The old version of these pants did not have the permanent crease in them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by none123 The chinos I've been looking for
I've been buying high end chinos for the past few years but no matter how much I spend the bottoms frazzle per-maturely. I've been looking for a NOT non-iron pair of chinos that are reasonably priced and I've found a great pair in these Nor-easter Double L's. First of all the fit on me is perfect and second the fabric is soft and comfortable and they breathe well, unlike non-iron material. I hope Bean introduces more color choices.

Best chinos I've ever purchased for my husband. Looked great even after wearing and traveling a distance to attend a function! Wash great with very little pressing,
Great pants for the price and plan to purchase again. Do not change this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by newsmaker battle worthy chinos
I work in broadcast news in west Michigan. When the weather is at its nastiest is when I have to be outside reporting, and still be presentable. These pants fit the bill like no other. Bottom line is that no other product like them even exists, so at $40 they are a steal. The fabric is a little heavier and stiffer than typical chinos, which I like because it makes them more wind resistant than most pants, but you don't burn up if you go inside the way you would with lined pants. You can pour a cup of coffee on them and the liquid rolls right off (I know because I tried, and not on purpose) If LL Bean made more colors and cuts, I might not wear any other kind of pants...

Rated 2 out of 5 by Khakifan Double L's with Nor'easter
I've been a long time fan and customer of LL Bean; used to be for the money there was nothing better. Many things have changed with their poduct line, including the Double L Chinos. I loved the old, untreated version. Not to be anymore. I do still like the material and look of their Double L's, especially the Nor'easter version. What is lacking is the quality of custom hem alterations. I don't fit the standard lengths offered by LL Bean, so I order mine custom hemmed. Most of the time the length is fine, but the hem finish quality is very poor. The hem looks "bulgy" and can't be pressed to look neat. I've given them more than enough chances to improve over several years, but I am afraid my business will be going elsewhere.

These pants are very water resistant. I was at a restaurant and I dropped some salsa on my pants. I was able to sweep it off with my napkin and it didn't even leave a mark. Amazing. I just wish they had more colors of the Nor'easter cotton pants so I could buy more.
