Rated 5 out of 5 by NovelTea Dry as bone
I took this on a 2.5 week trek through New Zealand, where it rained every day in varying amounts. Let me tell you, my torso was dry! (I wish I had thought to buy rain pants in hindsight.)
I am fairly slight in frame and usually buy XS for most things, but purchased a S in case I wanted to wear many layers. Small was just right for me, even with a tank top underneath, but I also really hate feeling things clinging to me, especially in relation to wet things. A few shakes and most of the water fell off.
This jacket is lightweight, waterproof, windproof (I enjoyed it mostly for its wind resistance, though it kept all the rain away), and the mulberry color is flattering. Someone mentioned the cuffs aren't tight enough--mine were just tight enough (again, don't like clingy, but didn't have any trouble with the rain). And it stuffs easily into one pocket--find the pocket with the double zipper, flip inside out and keep stuffing.
This one's inexpensive, lightweight, and a keeper.

Rated 2 out of 5 by EAFE Alteration of sleeves needed
Great jacket but the elastic in the sleeves is sized much too large. You can see how loose the sleeves are in the picture of the model. I ordered petite and had to shorten the sleeves and reduce the elastic about 2 inches and I have large wrists. That is why the rating is 2 stars. It would have gotten a 5 if there was no problem with the sleeves.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SambaK Not Waterproof At All
I ordered the mulberry color and waited for it as it was on backorder. I was pleased with it until I actually needed to wear it in the rain. The water immediately soaked through and all of my clothing ended up wet. I am beginning to be convinced that the only truly waterproof rain jackets have to be PVC. I am going to try another company as I really like the fact that the fabric is supposed to breathe, but this one breathed too much and let the water in!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Krisanne too short vs too long
I ordered this as an XL Petite as I find when I order regular XL the sleeves are over my fingertips. Alas, the petite is too short in body length. I loved this coat, but am returning. Maybe Bean could consider making short, long or extra long arm lengths like they do for some jeans. Probably not cost effective. I love Bean; however, for my body type (large bust, no waist and regular hips) tops and coats are difficult.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Samjaydee NOT waterproof, even in a light rain
My title says it all. Would give this a zero rating if I could. The jacket itself would make a nice windbreaker, but the point of a RAIN JACKET is to keep a person dry! So everything else goes out the window when it fails completely at its intended purpose. I wore it, once, in a very light rain. It soaked through right away. I do realize these jackets are treated to be waterproof, and since they are not made in this country, there are usually defects in the manufacturing. But the waterproofing process needs to be good on a rain jacket. And the batch mine came from is not. Most of the time returning for a different one takes care of the problem, however I am not happy about having to bear the cost of returning it for something that is not my fault. I will not be trying another one of these jackets, I will opt for a different one if I can find something on sale/clearance. I have also seen the hood criticized on other reviews and it is tiny. It will not keep your face dry. And for those of us who wear glasses, they will get wet. Because of this I wear a baseball cap, which remedies this problem. The small hood was not enough to deter me from this jacket. However not being waterproof is a total deal breaker. This one will be returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marilyn4cats Beautiful jacket!
I got the azalea print. I had a chance to try it on, and my usual size fit, but it felt small around the hips. Since I might wear a sweater under it, I ordered the next size up. Can't wait to wear it! It's still a little too chilly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by kamakazi Good Jacket
i bought the jacket for my daughter who is going to Disney World and rain is scheduled. We got Mulberry which is so pretty. They really should include directions or have a video on the website about how to fold it up into the pocket. I had to chat with a specialist and she gave me the instructions, but i feel like it will come out wrinkly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cinnamon123 great in Ireland
I bought this for a trip to Ireland in Nov. where it rained every day. Trip was great, jacket was perfect and easy to stow in a light backpack. Did not get wet at all, and I like the hood as it keeps those wet gusts off your face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FlyfishWoman Great as windbreaker and rain jacket
I bought this jacket in 2013 for my trip to NYC. It's self stow was great for packing. It served well as a wind breaker and for the light rain. True test was my July 2014 Yellowstone River float trip--got caught on river in pouring rain storm with side winds & dropping temps. I stayed dry under my jacket!! And it cut the cross winds blowing down the river valley. I did get pretty cold after a while, but this is a lightweight and very breathable jacket and I only had a t-shirt on underneath--expected. Great jacket for its purpose and price! Only complaint is sleeve cuffs are only elastic without Velcro straps to tighten cuffs--re-design idea...
