Rated 1 out of 5áby verydispleased Inaccurate fit, unattractive, not what expected
Very displeased with this product especially for the amount of the purchase.
The fit was inaccurate, the color very unattractive and not at all close to what it seemed to be on-line. The coat itself was a disappointment. I have returned my purchase.

Bought this to take to Europe in October. This was great with the zip in and out light liner due to it's rainproof properties. It was WAY oversized so buy the size smaller. Mine is a teal and this is a great color and went with everything I brought. It is still large enough to put a sweatshirt under for more chilly days which I needed when we got to England. The zip on and off hood saved me on the rainy days and I kept it in my pocket at other times. I have since washed it, hung to drip dry and it still looks great. Remember the liner is dry clean only.

While the coat was stitched beautifully, it was the fit between the lining and the outer layer in the underarm that was a big problem for me. It felt like I rolled up a towel under my arms and could not adjust the bulk. I did not care for the noisy outer material...even though I knew this was a rain coat...it is just too noisy when my arm rubbed up against the fabric. Everything else was great. One of the drawbacks to buying anything online is that you can't feel the fabric. I was hoping for more of a 'cloth' feel rather than a 'slick' feel. I have been wanting to get some of your beautiful t-shirts, but now that I know I have to pay return shipping, I think I will pass.

Rated 4 out of 5áby urbantravelor Good for multiple purposes and reasons/size issues
I've been wearing this for 2 weeks to work, but this jacket has been purchased in dark gray for a 14 day trip in Italy in Novmeber, with rain forecasted. The water resistance and the zip in lining are ideal for this. It will go to the opera with a large silk scarf to dress it up, and it will be worn for every-day use. It looks great for all of this due to color and design, and hence no other outer wear is needed. For my current work/weekend use, it fits nicely over a blazer and looks good with skirts, slacks, and jeans.
Regarding size: I ordered a small petite as opposed to usual medium petite, and it was too large. I went to a store and bought it in XS regular--and the porportions are about the same as petite--or at least it looks OK on a 5'2" person. Once you get to a small enough size, there is no billowing and the lines are straight, as they should be. The only thing I do not care for is the rustle this type of textile makes. It's a NOISY jacket!

Rated 1 out of 5áby LZee comical fit
Honestly, this coat looked so silly on. I loved that it was versatile in terms of layers, and the color was really lovely. But the fit was really silly. It looked comically poofy on, and without the inner layer, it was just really off. I'm disappointed! It's getting returned.

Rated 3 out of 5áby VAshopper5 Should have listened to other reviewers
I read the other reviews and ordered anyway because I really wanted a convertible trench coat. Should have ordered smaller than my normal size because this is cut large, as the other reviewers have said. Especially large in the mid-section, but not so large in the shoulders. kind of reminded me of maternity clothing in terms of the volume around the stomach. I ordered a small, wonder if an extra small would have fit. So I returned to the store, and would have tried an extra small if they had one in stock.

Rated 1 out of 5áby kec05014 Awful!!!
I love LLBean, but this coat is just awful. I was looking for a trench coat with a liner after I sadly had to return my wool-lined commuter trench due to its incorrect size. The only lined trench coat LLBean has this season is the convertible waterproof trench (I have no idea why they got rid of the wool-lined commuter trench, it was great). I am 5'6''/130lbs, and after reading the reviews i decided to go with a Regular XS...and it's huge! I looked like a puffy khaki marshmallow, the fit is terrible. The fabric, while waterproof, is crinkly and uncomfortable. PLEASE bring back the wool-lined commuter trench!!!

Since it never rains in Southern CA, I have yet to test the waterproofness. But probably will get that opportunity in Paris in October.

In my quest for a stylish and practical trench, I was immediately drawn to the beautiful gray color of this fall's coat. I liked the practicality of a removable lining for extended wear. The three-quarter length was perfect. But despite the high quality of construction, when I put the coat on, I was sadly disappointed. Instead of looking stylish, I looked dumpy. The belting in the middle didn't help--it made the coat pouf out above and below the waist while tapering in slightly at the bottom rather than slightly flaring out in what would have been a more feminine silhouette. As I am tall and slender, I can only imagine what this coat looks like on fuller-figured women. I was very disappointed to have to return the trench. I'm hopeful the LL Bean designers will start adding a touch more style to their quality clothing line.

Rated 1 out of 5áby NotSleeping Great idea, poor execution
I should have heeded the others' warnings. This jacket is enormous. I bought a petite small and I typically wear a size 8P in pants. I looked like a marshmallow on toothpicks in this jacket. I love the styling and the fabric and the idea of wearing it in warm or cold weather but there are definitely style and sizing issues to be worked out.
