Rated 4 out of 5 by manxcatmom1964 nice for year-round use
Many people might imagine that flannel sheets are only for winter use, but we like them year-round. These are a nice weight for that purpose--not too heavy. We feel they are warm and cozy in the cold months, but also good in the summer because they "breathe" and don't feel damp and clammy the way some percale sheets can. It helps to have an air-conditioned bedroom on the really sticky nights here in Maine (not too many of those), but just the same, flannel sheets can work any month of the year if you live in a cooler clime.

I have been ordering flannel sheets from LL Bean for over 30 years. This past month, I replaced our previous set with these. They are NOTHING like the sheets Bean used to sell.
These are scratchy. I washed over 10 times and still scratchy. I couldn't sleep on them, the itches kept waking me. The 10 year old sheets they are replacing are still softer and better feeling.
Thankfully, LL Bean has a wonderful return policy, back these go. The quality of the stitching, etc is up to par with Bean, but these are a terrible "upgrade" to their old product.
I'm crushed to have to look elsewhere for sheets. I have loved the flannels from Bean :(
Do not buy if you think these are like the traditional ones!

I have these sheets in purple, and they are by far the softest, coziest, sturdiest sheets I own. They hold up well in the washer and dryer.
I'm online browsing the new colors and patterns to buy a second set since I've upgraded to a King size bed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by mjkbaar Great quality, very comfortable
I am a big fan of the L.L.Bean flannel bedding because of the amazing quality and the softness and warmth of it. The fitted sheet is very nice in particular in my opinion, because it adds that extra bit of comfort and softness to my bed without it getting to warm during the spring and summer time when I usually don't use my flannel flat sheets or comforter cover. I highly recommend getting a flannel fitted sheet, you will not regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JudithJean Flannel sheets great for quilt backing
These are great flannel sheets. True colors and after being washed 3-4 times they make outstanding quilt backs. I have made 30+ quilts with LL Bean flannel sheets as my quilt backs and have recommended them to other women in our quilt group, much to their delight. Your free shipping is a great plus, too.

I washed these sheets one time and they were totally shredded. I can't believe LL Bean would sell such a shoddy product since I buy a lot and am always totally satisfied. I would suggest spending the additional money for the more expensive cotton flannel sheets. I have some LL Bean cotton flannel sheets I have had for ten years or more. Needless to say I am sending them back. The customer service person I spoke with was great and I purchased the more expensive ones and will get a full refund on the ones I returned.

These are the best flannel sheets I have ever found. We have been using them for many years and they are impressive!! These sheets are warm in the fall and winter and cool in the spring and summer; they wash well and have extra deep pockets to fit any mattress--even if you have a mattress topper! Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves bedtime comfort and a great price.

I love the softness of these sheets!! And unlike less expensive flannels these havn't pilled or thinned. However, I am in the process of sending the Bay Blue fitted sheet and pillow cases back due to fading and spots that look like I have used bleach in laundering, which I have NOT. I always wash in cold with mild detergent. I noticed this right away with early washings that has gotten worse. I am going to ask for an exchange and give them another try for next winter since LLBean is so awesome with returns. It has bothered me so its time to let LLBean know. Maybe a different fabric vendor is in order. I have the blue plaid flat sheet and pillow cases and have not had the same issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MountainCabin 2nd Year Shrinkage
We bought sheets for the master and guest rooms. The guest sheets are always line dried but sometimes the master sheets need to go in the electric dryer. The master sheets (dark blue) are shrinking, guest sheets (off green) still fit well. While the blue still fit side to side, I could use and extra 2 inches in the length. Good thing LLBean has a lifetime warranty because one of these days I'm going to rip the sheet trying to stretch it corner to corner. That said, I would buy this item again, because of the warranty.

I purchased the bottom fitted (ex-long twin) sheet for my 95 year old mother that lives in a nursing home. She only needed the bottom sheet as they get worn out much faster than the top sheets. This sheet is the softest, warmest flannel I've ever seen. One year later, this sheet is still holding up. She has cream put on her legs and feet nightly and the sheets get very greasy prior to washing. They wash up very good each time and have stayed soft. It is well worth the money.
