Rated 2 out of 5áby BirchBayShopper Dark Navy is NOT the color to buy!
I bought the dark navy flannel duvet cover and bottom sheet and found that they picked up all sorts of lint that made the sheets always look "dirty." I guess I should have known that they would do this but I just liked the color and didn't think about the fact that they would do this. I really think LL Bean should discontinue this color as I can't see how anyone would like it. I will be returning it. Regarding other features, my husband found that it was difficult to turn over or adjust the duvet because the flannel essentially is NOT slippery. It was warm and cozy but he is happy to be back using our cotton duvet cover.

I really love these sheets. The color is perfect for my needs and
and the quality is great, but the sheets and shams have a terrible smell. I washed them four times and the smell still fills the room.
Do you have any suggestions for getting rid of the oily-musty
smell? I want to keep the sheets and shams. You should how
perfect they are with my new room! Have to tell you, I love
all your products and your terrific service. I'm disabled and do all my buying on line and I say you are the best!

I have been buying these sheets for my bed for several years. Usually the fitted sheet wears out after 2-3 years and rips (that has happened 3 times now), but since I use these sheets nightly and year-round I expect a slightly shortened lifespan (as opposed to someone who uses them only in the winter). I absolutely love the softness and breathability, even in Michigan summers, which can get hot and humid.
My only complaint is that I wish LL Bean was more consistent with the colors and took better photographs/care to keep the website accurate. Usually the colors change ever few years and I am not able to find a replacement in the same color (which stinks because only the fitted sheet wears out). This time, I purchased Driftwood because the picture made it look identical to my dark green sheet I am trying to replace. In reality, it is a light khaki. I'll be keeping the sheet, but it doesn't match my set and I wish the site had been accurate from the get-go.
Those of you having trouble with dye transfer and lint, absolutely wash and dry the sheets before using them.

áby theBeanDean What Happened to Normal Colors?
Really? Why do we use Bay Blue, Mineral Green and Driftwood as names for the colors for flannel sheets? What happened to blue, green and brown? The color names mean nothing and apparently the image colors don't either (see photo). So, having said that, DO NOT buy the Ultrasoft Comfort Flannel bedding in Mineral Red, unless the color you are really looking for is PINK (or if using the new nomenclature, Pepto Bismol«). This order is coming back to you, Mr. Bean.

I already owned these in eggplant purple and bought the dark blue color they have now and I love it just as much! This fits even my thick pillow top mattress. It feels great, washes great, and it's not too hot to have on the bed in the fall months or early spring, even though my husband gets hot easily. But definitely great to have in the winter since we like sleeping with the room cold, but with the bed warm! I hope they always make these flannel sheets.

áby dmamet The Driftwood Color
There are a couple of reviews of the driftwood, so I decided to post photos of it.
First, I ordered it expecting it to look like the photo but knowing it might not (given the reviews). It looks nothing like the image, and I think LL Bean should change it. However, I love it! Since love is subjective, I will do my best to describe:
It is tan. That's it: tan. The sort of tan that "khaki" pants might be (I see why the reviewer below wrote "khaki"). What it is not: gray -- not even a hint of gray.
I wanted something like natural but a bit darker and cozier for winter, and that's precisely what it is. It isn't nearly as dark as I thought it would be, which I am happy about. So, for me, all good.
My original review of the sheets (when I bought the light gray) is below. I adore them. They are soft, thick, comfortable, well-made, they breathe, and they wash well. I can't say enough about these sheets. (And on sale - fantastic!)
OK so I took a bunch of photos, and since I was at home in a bright room (light coming in from the foot of the bed), I couldn't fully capture the color, but I think it will give you an idea. These pictures are closer to the actual color than LL Bean's photos, but I think also a bit lighter than in person. I'm showing you two different angles in my attempt to compensate for room light.
Also, for reference, the blanket is LL Bean's thermal zone fleece blanket, and the throw at the foot of the bed is LL Bean's fleece throw in natural.

I ordered these sheets in Twin XL for our new split king bed. They are very generously sized. The elastic goes all the way around each sheet. The driftwood color is actually a soft honey brown. I was pleasantly surprised. There was a lot of lint in my dryer, but I was not bothered by this. I would definitely recommend these sheets.

Wonderful soft cotton and a nice colour. A Quality you wont find that easy. Makes me sleep better. They don't fade like my cheap ones. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. For this price you'll search a while for the same Quality.

I don't know how long I've been dark brown/khaki blind but I'm glad LL Bean brought this to my attention. I saw the Driftwood sheet and thought it would look good with my dark brown sheets. To my surprise, a khaki colored sheet came. I ordered/exchanged two more sheets via the mail until I got a handwritten note with the third sheet saying the khaki colored sheet was indeed Driftwood.
LL Bean seems convinced the picture on the website is fine so the only logical conclusion I can draw is that I am dark brown/khaki blind.
Before you order Driftwood, please check if you're dark brown/khaki blind. I'd hate to see someone with the same disability make this silly mistake also.

This is a very thick, substantial soft flannel sheet with deep pockets.
Very comfortable and well-made.
