I am so sorry to return these Oceanside sleepwear pants. I have four pair that are about 4-5 years old and I love them so much but they are starting to show wear and fading a bit from all the washing/drying. They do not have side pockets (just two little pockets in back, which of course have never been used) and they have three little buttons down the front. This newer design is awful. The front flares out and makes me look pregnant. Not sure if that is because of the side pockets or just the cut of the fabric. Also, the legs flare out at the bottom, like bell bottoms, which is odd and frumpy for short pajama bottoms. I'm sorry that Beans changed the cut of these pajamas because I would order four more pair to replace my older ones. The fabric is beautiful, though.

Received a gift card last spring and purchased two pair of these poplin bottoms. Did not like the fit, did not like the crispness of the poplin. Took them apart and adjusted the crotch area and still didn't like them. Not my kind of pajama bottom.

Rated 3 out of 5 by WalksAlot Pockets add excess bulk
I have several pairs of the older sleep pants and love them. Whose idea was it to add big, bulky side pockets? They make me look dumpy. :( Please bring back the original, comfy design and fabric before mine wear out!

I love these. Comfortable and presentable. They're crisp but not crackly. I have them in short & long, several prints.

If I could choose a design and sets of colors for pj bottoms, this would be it. If I were comfortable with them sitting below my waist, this would be okay. If I was looking for material that feels a little like my grandson's bathing suit, this would be it. But, this is not for me. And, when I complain that there is not enough rise to most women's bottom wear today, it is coming from a 5 ft., 80 lbs. lady! I can't imagine how regular sized women struggle. These pj bottoms were advertised as "sit at the natural waist." In women, that's not hard to find.

Rated 2 out of 5 by CdnReviewer Weird fit with pockets
I bought a pair of Oceanside sleepwear pants a couple of years and loved them; they're starting to wear out so I ordered a new pair. I hadn't realized that the fabric has changed and there are now pockets! The fabric isn't as soft and comfortable as the previous design. Also, the pockets add a huge amount of bulk to the midsection and not only make the pants less attractive (that's the last place I need more bulk), but also make the pants much less comfortable to sleep in. I'm a bit unclear on why side pockets were added - why exactly would we need pockets for sleepwear?. I was very disappointed with my purchase.

I've had these for several months and really like them. The fabric is crisp, but I don't find it uncomfortable and don't think that it makes too much noise. I actually like that the crisp fabric doesn't wrinkle much and still looks nice after sleeping in it. The print looks even better in person than on the screen.
I have a couple of other pair of lightweight LL Bean pajama pants and I like that this year's versions have added pockets. It's always nice to have a pocket to stash my phone, keys, or whatever.

Rated 1 out of 5 by huixue Cute fabric design, terrible fabric
I don't know what happened when they made these pants. The design is cute (I got the anchor on sale) but the fabric is tough and noisy---almost like you are wearing plastic or some kind of stiff canvas. They are cotton, but I guess not all cottons are made alike. Don't even talk about sleeping in them, I don't think I can stand wearing them around the house. But I can't send them back because my husband already washed them.

I'll second the other reviews that complained about noisy/crispy fabric. These pajama pants make so much noise when I move that I have actually woken my light-sleeper husband with them. They're perfectly acceptable for lightweight loungewear, but I can't recommend them for anyone who wants to get any sleep in them.
