This item is just what a nightgown should be. It is soft, smooth comfy cotton. I read others' warnings about size and I'd have to agree. Normally I wear a medium but I ordered a large and it fit well.

Nice easy fit, comfy, modest but sweet nightie. Soft but sturdy fabric and quality workmanship. I've already washed it several times and it still looks brand new. It's a favorite. I wish LL Bean offered it in more colors, because I'd buy another for sure.

This is the most comfortable nightgown I have ever owned. I am very picky about the softness of material that touches my skin. This material is baby soft and washes well. One thing I like about LL Bean is that the tags at the back of the neck are stamped in the material instead of a tag that irritates and rubs. I took the advice of those before me and ordered one size up. It's perfect. I am short. 5' 1". The 3/4 sleeves come to right above my wrist. Love it. Love it. Love it. I just ordered another.

Love this nightgown. It is so soft and comfortable. The 3/4 length sleeves are perfect -- falls just below the knee. I like to sleep in a cool room, and this sleeve length is perfect. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star is because the body is a little more fitted than I prefer for sleepwear. I ordered a second in a size up because I like a little more roominess in my nightwear. Definitly recommend.

I ordered the Supima gown along with the matching robe and was disappointed because both the gown and the robe were a very snug fit. Tight fitting sleep wear is not comfortable. My other LLBean nightgowns have a comfortable cut. It is really too bad because the material is really comfy and it washes well. I returned the gown and robe today.

Over the last three years I have been acquiring these supima cottom nightgowns in a variety of colors/patters. I cannot say enough about how confortable they are. Since I like my nightgowns to the larger size I have been getting the Women's size, they are just perfect. I can let the dogs outside and don't worry about them being "see through" when my neighbor pops his head out as I am not a robe person. They wash beautifully although I do not use the dryer, biggest plus....No pilling!
You will not be disappointed if you enjoy the soft feel of the supima cotton!

This is an excellent nightgown, smooth, silky, not terribly heavy. You'll want a warm robe and warm blankets if you use this where winters are cold.
Other reviewers have complained that this runs small, so I called customer assistance to figure out what size to order. I wound up ordering by my hip size (the biggest part of me), which isn't listed on the sizing chart that links to the item, but you can find a complete sizing chart on the site if you poke around a bit. Customer service gave me the dimensions for two sizes and the larger size was longer than the shorter size.
When I tried the gown on it seemed just barely big enough through the hips but it stretched wider as I wore it (as cotton often does.) So it's fine. I washed it on cold and dried it in the dryer on the lowest setting. It shrank in length but not in width. I'm 5' 4" and size 2X hits me mid-calf, with true 3/4 sleeves after shrinkage.
If I could change the design of this gown I would make it wider in the hips (because extra fabric in the hips of a nightgown doesn't hurt anyone and helps a lot of us) and I would make a rounder neckline -- not a high neck, but not a scoop neck either. If you have to buy larger in the bust to accommodate your hips then v-necks can plunge too much. Also, if the small sizes are much shorter than the gown I bought, I would design them so that slender ladies, too, can have a gown that hits mid-calf, since that is so comfortable for lounging and sleeping.

A lovely gown but it runs small. I prewashed it but it fits snug. I like nightgowns large on me so I had ordered a size up. I do not like the fit. Will return.

Ordered this night shirt in the cherry pink color. I had previously purchased the pajama set and so liked the softness of the material that I got the night shirt for travel. I am 5'4" and it hits right at mid calf on me. The fit is great for lounging and it allows free movement in bed without bunching up. Stayed true to size after being washed in cool water and dried on low setting. I have pajamas from a competitor that shrank a lot after washing and the knit material is not nearly as soft. LL Bean's dependable quality can't be beat!

I love this nightgown! It's so soft, comfortable, washes well, just lovely. I like that it is loose around my neck. I am completely spoiled with LLBean's sleepwear products, this is no exception. I'm 5'7 and 175# and the extra large is perfect, loose and comfy. I had ordered one of these in pink, and liked it so much, I ordered two more when I saw the blue had gone on sale. No problems noticed with shrinkage, washed on warm/cool and tumbled dry regular. I'm happy with this, sweet dreams.
