Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanCustomer1066 Excellent Quality, Excellent Shoe
I purchased these shoes several months ago and have been wearing them frequently ever since. I have had absolutely no problems with comfort or product breakdown and have been completely satisfied with the purchase.
The fit is rather narrow, specifically tapering towards the toe area, which creates some excess room between the toe and the actual front of the shoe, but the excess space does not cause the foot to slide while wearing the shoe, and the fit remains comfortable to wear and the shoe length is true to size.
I have certainly been pleased with the quality and performance that the shoes have offered!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mike Narrow Fit, Poorly Made
After trying these shoes, I have to agree with the reviewers that complained about both the narrow fit and poor quality of these shoes. I returned them immediately. Not up to Beans' normally excellent standards.

Really high quality, fits a little long and narrow, but looks great. Perfect all-around casual shoes. If you had to get a single pair for the cooler months, this would be it! I wear them whenever possible now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by butterbur Very uncomfortable
I should have known better; there is a reason these nice looking shoes are so inexpensive. They may be hand sown but they are very uncomfortable. There is no support at the arch and although the soles are rubber, it felt like I was standing on two 2"x4". Disappointing. Plus, I had to pay $10 to send them back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Fud91 Nice looking shoe - narrow fit though
Exchanged an old pair of LL Bean shoes that had quality issues (split sole and separating stitching) after 1 year of wear for these oxfords. The 2E size fits more like a 1E or D shoe. A half size larger felt fine, but the length was just too much (over an inch of space between my toe and the front of the shoe).
Decided to stick with my normal size and see if the shoes would stretch a bit. They have; they're still snug, but getting more comfortable. Hoping they continue to get better - definitely not comfortable right out of the box. Also hoping the quality is more up to LL Bean standards than the pair they replaced. Time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ctman1 Great shoes for all occasions
I purchased these shoes for comfort and their waterproof attributes and was not disappointed. Wore them the next day on a trip to London where I walked a great deal and sometimes in London rain. The shoes more than met my expectations.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ISRuth Nice looking but painful
I bought these shoes because we live in the country and wanted something with a good sole for the winter.
While the shoes look nice, they have no padding or arch support so after a week of wearing them my knees felt like I had arthritis and my feet were constantly sore. Also, one of the side square stitches came loose on the second day of wear and the round laces come untied regularly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 2wheelz gift for my nephew
had bought a different pair of lace ups for my nephew about 6 months ago , he is growing like a weed... needed bigger shoes last pair from LL he said were good but these are better! About as much as you can get from a teenager.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EricC Comfortable fit, nice coloring
These shoes have a sturdy sole of the right thickness with good anti-slip tread. They fit really well to the shape of my foot, and the coloring is a pleasing tan with nice contrast in the stitching and lacing.
